What are you talking about? Who doesn't know the location of the district and what does that have to do with anything we are discussing.

Storm, in my opinion what bothers people most is the "property tax", which is where the majority of school district funding comes from especially for our district. For the most part it is a very regressive tax. I believe there are more equitable ways to fund the schools and some proposals (sales tax) have been brought up in the House but it seems no one has the guts to try and push it through. Neither party has done anythging to alleviate the burden placed upon the homeowner with the property tax. One must remember, the house is only a building, it asks for no services. It is the people who ask for services.
To put it another way, let's say you have $100,000 in some investments. Every year we are not only going to tax you on the interest you earn but also on your base $100,00 that you started with. Doesn't sound too fair, does it.

NASD taxpayer,

EXACTLY!

Using a sales tax to fund public schools ensures that ALL drug dealers, welfare cheats, and "cash-only" employees pay their fair share toward schools.

Can't imagine why more folks don't recognize this.

New method of taxation is a great idea. Maybe Julie Harhart can do something. She has been in this position for many years. She runs unopposed year after year. She needs to get off her seat and attempt something since she is being paid as our representative out of our tax dollar (just as I said in my previous post). She won't do this because she carries no clout in Harrisburg. I guess we could say the legislaturers did try something in the form of casino gambling. But not much has happened. Where is our relief??

Thank God it wasn't aimed at me. However, John from NYC, may be a more likely choice to be the troll you referred to.

it's about time. with all the big companies laying off and people losing their jobs right before the holidays, they should feel damn grateful for anything they get.
