Okay, for the record Axel was a good person, and for someone to jump to the conclusion that it was drugs is absolutely absurd. I know his older brother and some of his family, and they do not deserve hypocritical comments... May he rest in peace and shame on everyone for trying to tarnish his name.

That sounds normal to them. Kids Don't go to school to learn; they go to socialize. It's a babysitting service with meals included.

It IS possible to get an education at school if a child WANTS one. It's much easier to cruise through until grade 12 or age 18, whichever comes first.

I have 2 grown sons... and believe me when they were still in school, any day they had "off" they stayed in bed until they wanted to get up. I worked, my husband worked, I don't know exactly what time the "boys" got up, this makes me a bad mother? Weekends... I can remember them staying in bed until Noon- 2pm. However, I knew and they knew, they had chores to be done before I got home. Chores done... life is good. Not done... don't go out over the weekend! Simple rules to follow... I am now the proud grandmother of 4 grandsons. Ages 5 thru 15 .... they are all good kids, but I do see a "different" generation growing up. My 15 year-old grandson and I often email back and forth. He text messages me and has told me a number of times I need to learn how to text message when I email him. I tell him, no .... he needs to learn how to type faster and besides that, it takes me longer to read what he sends me than it takes me to type my response. So... I guess what I'm saying is, we can't ask someone "what kind of language are you using", when in the world we currently live in, and the world our children/grandchildren are living in, to speak/type the way we, as the "older" generation were taught. Our children and grandchildren, whether good or bad, live in an entirely different world then we grew up in. My heart goes out to this family, they have lost their son. It is not up to me to judge what type of child he was. Or, what type of parents they are/were. I don't know... I just know I could not bare to lose any child to "any" circumstance. You can think you are the best parent, but you cannot be with your children 24 hrs. a day. You can teach them right from wrong, but, I'm sure my parents when I was growing up in the 60-70's thought where have we gone wrong? Every generation has a turning point... I'm not naive enough to think "life is good", because I know it's not. Been there... done that! But, even if this child died of an overdose, a mother has to bury her son.

Axel, it was great knowing you in the short time that I did with the Amen b-ball program that you became apart of. We will most defintely miss you, the 3rd Day family. Although you may have not realized it, your personality & character touched many of our lives. We miss you & love you. My condolences go out to the Reyes family. God bless!

It is amazing how some people in this world so quickly judge another. Axel was a bright young boy and a good friend of mine. I find this absolutely ridiculous that people who have no idea who this boy is can judge by what they read in a simple article in the paper. Axel always had a bright smile on his face and could always make me laugh with the silly things he would say. This boy was a good kid. How dare you judge someone my their race, when you have no idea who they are. Some people should be ashamed of themselves (they know who they are).

I'll miss you "brother".
Rest in peace.

Who really cares how he died...that's not important. What's important is that there is one less person we have to feed through food stamps!!!!
Wow. You are so ignorant and cruel. God is going to punish you. Just cause is Hispanic doesn't mean he is on food stamps. Axel was a very nice and down-to-earth person. He basically had no problems with no one, and for you to say something about him without even knowing him is just sad. I don't really know him like that and you hurt my feelings.

R.i.p to him. It's sad how he died after his sister's birthday, but god took him for a reason. God wanted another angel. May the family && other friends stay strong. We can make it through this.
He is going to be missed.

#1 let me just say that i am a very well educated young lady that goes to the same school that axel did. how i decide to write my feelings is my buisness not yours. i refuse to sit here and argue with an ignorant adult that has no respect for life. axel was not a drug addict and i wont allow you to talk bad about him.. i would not have allowed it while he was alive and i surley wont allow it now that he is gone. so please do me the favor and find some other article to critisize because there is no need for your negativity around here.
axel sweetheart we all love you and care for you, thats why we go out of our way to not allow people that dont know you to bad mouth you and how you lived your life. we love you baby boy

Not only will the students miss you, Axel, but your teachers will too. It's a shame that some of the people posting comments never got the chance to meet you and see what a kind, bright, caring individual you were. You will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing you. I sincerely wish that those who wish to cast their judgments would let the family and friends grieve in peace and leave this space open to those who truly knew him and what a good person he was.

I did not know Axel, nor did I go to his school, but I have a good friend of mine who is really hurt by loosing him as a friend and I would just like to send his family my apologies for what has happened to him, and for what these ignorant people are saying. I lost a very close friend of mine & I know how it feels to lose someone you love and have people assume the worst. Im sure Axel was an amazing boy who had a whole life of dreams and goals he wanted to complete, but only the good die young and that is proven. People are heartless and rude, but please do not let them get to you. This is not the time to be angry, nor sad. But to celebrate the happy times that Axel has provided to you. May he rest in peace and watch over all of you. His family and friends are in my prayers.
God Bless you all, and Axel may angels lead you in.

Um, except in this case they ARE related. Why are you hiding behind the TRUTH and denying the facts? Why not just acknowledge what happened and why it happened and then start the healing process.

Nobody said anything about him being hispanic...so don't jump to conclusions! You can receive welfare and food stamps and be white...ohh but that's not what happens in todays society, so how would you know?! I guess I can't fault you for that.
As for everyone else on here...please excuse me while I go get my Spanish/ibonics dictionary. Do you want to know why our society is the way that it is??? Because you can't even speak proper english or write gramatically correct! Half the white and/or normal people can't even understand what you are saying! So if you would like to engage in a debate or argument about your drug related friend...go back to school, learn to speak and write in proper english then come back to me in 10 years when you get out of jail and we'll talk..ALRIGHT!!!! BUUH BYE!
And the Burmudez family...I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...horrible to read!!! And you're a business owner??? Of what?! This is a great example of why our kids don't stive to be great...their examples are poor.

People can have the same last name and not be related. Did you know that? Or did I just teach you something new? HaHa. You don't really know Axel and don't know about him so before you come out with something talking about how he died was because he was on drugs, I think you should wait for the real story to come out on what happened to him. And I'm a dumb broad? No, I'm a teenager that's 15 years old, and somewhat knew Axel, and my feeling are hurt because of his death. And it's "amazing" how all the people who are talking all this crap about Axel lives in a different state or town that is far away from Allentown. Haha. Enough said.[[= R.I.P. Axel!
