Yes, how nice. My only question is this - will that $40,000 to purchase (in addition to the grant) and the $5,000 annual cost help coordinate emergency services in the borough or is having a pretty house to show off a bigger priority? Thanks, Vince!!

....at least for this year. Perhaps when King Barry and his globalists have totally given up the sovereignty of the U.S. to the "New World Order" we'll see the the flag of the U.N. proudly flying over the Taylor mansion. May God help us all.

Do you live next to one of his properties where the grass and weeds are waist high. YES, waist high is not exagerating.

Jessica isn't responsible for her father. His properties are disgusting, yes. But that was a problem before she was even born and is obviously not under her control. It's easy to criticize when it's not you doing the work and trying to make a difference in your community. Try appreciating the positive things Jessica is doing instead of negatively attacking her! Give her credit for what she's accomplished instead of making her a target.

I agree with your priorities - If I had it my way, that Emergency Services Building would be being built as we speak. For the last two years, I have been pushing hard for this building - I had two sets of plans drawn up at my expense for two locations downtown with the projects coming in under budget, and those proposals were dismissed by Council. Remember two things, 1)Catasauqua has been trying to put a central fire station in place since the 1960's. I have only been Council President since 2008. 2)I am only one of seven votes. I can't do it alone. I am continuing to work dilligently on this most urgent project.

I have no problem with this purchase. It preserves our history. The benefits are far greater than the costs.

It's real easy to hide behind a fake name and say mean things about people. I bet your family is perfect, you volunteer in your community and everything you do smells of roses! If we only knew who you really were... then we could all try to be just like you!

History is a wonderful thing to preserve, but I have a problem with council agreeing to spend $40,000 in excess of the $200,000 of your tax payer dollars ("Grant") for the purchase. I also have serious doubts that the cost to maintain a building that has been so neglected for so many years will not exceed $5,000. If this is such a great property to own then why was the group that is in the business of owning such properties so eager to unload it? Oh, I remember no one else would foolishly pay that kind of money for such a money pit. Vince, you have not supported building a new Public Safety Building. You have supported building a fire station that would benefit your personal interest. You seem to think that it is ok to spend our tax dollars to take over the FL Smidth property, and some how force some future developer to do what you want. News Flash, any developer that would be willing to spend the money to purchase/develop that parcel would do what that developer feels would make them the best return on their investment and the fact that you have put out there that you are willing to try and take property from property owners (that are paying taxes) instead of using what the Borough already owns will never get the property sold.

Yes this borough needs a fire station! Why is it Vince's fault there is not one? Let me remind you he was not borough council president for the last 30 years! Enough said!

"You have supported building a fire station that would benefit your personal interest." How can you even write such slander? It is a terrible shame for the borough if he does not get re-elected because of narrow minded people like yourself who slander his good name. I know Vince and I know he has the boroughs good in his heart! I wonder what have you done for your community?

Ask Obama for stimulus money. This is a national historical building. I am sure it qualifies.

How beautiful and desirable would Catasaqua would be if the the majority of properties along Front Street on the west were torn down opening up view of Lehigh Canal and Lehigh River and then engaging in building a beautiful 1 mile long linear parks.

Catasaqua really does have some very beautiful mansions and tree lined streets. It is a shame that it was overrun with HUD housing over the past 20 years.
