This couple's wedding will be remembered, but it definitely will not be remembered in a good way. Any couple that needs sponsors to pay for their wedding should not be getting married to begin with. Getting married is not a necessity. The couple should wait until they are financially ready.

Agreed. Or they should get married within thier means. nothing wrong with a small ceremony and reception...I would much rather attend a wedding that has meanig and reflects the personal relationship of the couple and ther guests, than going to a wedding where i will recieve a gift bag with business cards from sponsers...
this couple needs to get a clue as to what life is all about and what getting married means...
not sitting mugging for the camera as is reflected in the MC article photo, and calling people they do not know for sponsership for said wedding....it is so shallow and very tacky....

My opinion is that you are all just jealous. This sounds like a really creative way to cut costs for a wedding. I see no losers in this situation, the bride and groom win and so do the businesses they are advertising for.

Awesome. Did she have to wear a GOLDENPALACE.COM banner across the wedding dress?

Hey, I'll give them credit though. Weddings are way, way, way overpriced these days. If you're going to blow a downpayment on a house to entertain your friends & family, you might as well save whatever money you can.

Really though, weddings are the biggest waste of money for a couple starting out.

You can do a decent firehall wedding for under 5,000 dollars. And even that is too much to spend. These days all you really need is a keg & an MP3 player and you got your reception covered.

My wedding was cheap. Instead of a fancy one-day affair, I used the money I saved on a downpayment on a house. I have no regrets about the wedding, everyone got hammered and had a good time. So, does it really make sense to put yourself in debt for 15 years to pay for one lame day? You don't enjoy it anyway. You spend the whole night thanking people. Go low budget I say. Spend the money on your honeymoon and starting your life, not blowing it on stupid stuff.
