as i said before, i almost got in an accident with my friend on that bridge in the same weather conditions. but my friend was driving a little above the speed limit, and was able to get control of the car. now explain to me how someone driving a little above the speed limit in the same conditions didn't go over that bridge, but someone driving well below the speed limit almost gets control of the car, then does a 180, and ends up almost entirely upside down on the rail of the bridge? you can't, and have nothing better to do but to write rumors of what you think happened. What you all should be wondering is, "how are the victims of this horrible accident." no matter what happens throughout life, most people are quick to judge, and always look for someone to blame, whether it being an accident, or someone or something else's fault. yes, i know that bridge didn't just jump out in front of them, but this is not the first accident on this bridge. ask yourselves, how would you be feeling if you were in that car hanging on a rail staring death in the face, or a family member for that matter?
Thank you sooo much for saying that. No matter whose fault it was we shouldn't be throwing around rumors and names everything. Al the kids in the crash are in highschool and still have lives to live. you should be wondering who they are doing. It disapoints me that it takes a car crash and a group of kids almost dieing for the township to realize they need to close the bridge. What would have happened if the kids went over? I bet then no one would be saying the kids were idiots. I know all of the kids and they are all very responsible. So just think. What do you honestly think wouldbe said if the kids went over the bridge and into the river?

Believe me, My sympathies go out to all the occupants & Fam. members involved!!! Def. not making light of that. Driver error or bridge error. It doesnt matter. But the State needs to correct this disaster. Unfotunatly this tragedy might speed it up. But I doubt it!Kids/middle age/Seniors whatever the case may be. Cost the state money that they hide and put in pork barrel projects. They will listen. I dont think Coca Cola park was a waste but... How can these decrepit bridges handle all the extra traffic things like this produce?

Let see, I drove over this bridge 1000's of times in all weather conditions, and have never even been close to having an accident. I will agree, the bridge was garbage and needed work, but all blame cannot be put on the roadway. I think driver experience and ability should be considered a factor. I have driven over this bridge on a moped, in a car, in a pickup, during ice storms, rain, snow, sun shining, you name it, and I can say I have never been in an accident on this bridge.

Don't worry the insurance adjuster will scan the SRS controller and it will tell him how fast the vehicle was traveling for the previous 30 seconds, and if you continue with your 15 MPH bull, they can get you for insurance fraud or just decide to make you take them to court to collect your money. Been then many times. By the way the vehicle was traveling at approximately 45 MPH, a little too fast for the conditions

PS Tell again how it wasn't the driver's fault, when he gets the ticket in the mail

This was never brought up as far as Ive seen. Is it poss that the driver stayed farther toward the edge then normal. Since weather conditions and oncoming traffic were a concern. The veh did slide, diver overcorrected and went up over the curb due to the WIEGHT of the veh. Sounds good to me!

I am local and drive that bridge daily. IT WAS THE DRIVER'S FAULT

you people don't know anything.
if you did you would know that he was going well below the speed limit and there were witnesses to prove it. instead of just talking to run your mouths and be heard, you should worry about the victims. no one asked for this to happen, it just did. how would you like it if one of your family members were in the car and this happened. my cousin was in that car. so you can all just shut your mouths. until you know the details keep your comments to yourself. this bridge is horrible. i've been on it too many times to count. it doesn't matter the driver. it is a horrible bridge. it should have been taken down years ago. with the conditions no one should be put to blame. its a shame that there had to be an accident for the bridge to finally be closed. but all i have to say is it is about time. my friend almost lost her brother on this bridge as well. if you were local you'd know how bad this bridge is and wouldn't be so quick to judge. i hope you guys have a speedy recovery. love ya<3

You were about two feet from going over. The rail saved you from a heck of a fall. If the left front would have gone over the whole car would have gone. This was just a stupid mistake by the driver

alright people. get your facts straight. i was in the car i was in this accident. and speed had nothing to do with it. we were going about 15mph. and how we got up on the curb. um yeah we pretty much 180ed and it just went up. so dont say that we had to be going pretty fast to get up there. it really isnt that hard. my boyfriend is in the hospital yet from this. so dont go running your mouth and being so selfish. he is hurt. we are all hurt. one of my good friends has 3 broken ribs and 1 fractured one. my other friends legs were paralyzed. hes lucky they fixed it. another one is in alot of pain and suffered a minor concusion. and me my life was saved by my boyfriend. im not hurt all that bad but if he wasn't there i could almost be dead. we are extremely lucky. we all could be dead right now. we were literally 5 feet from going over at one point we could literally see the water. so all you people can run your mouths. go right ahead but if you werent there. dont go making stuff up. get your d@mn facts straight you little smarta$$es

the air bags didnt deploy. if you get smacked hard enough against your belt you can break ribs. and with them heading up of the curb they could ahve hit their heads on the windows or whatever else was around in the car.
