why not let the bus driver take him to his sure beats having him at a KILL shelter....for people who say they are animal lovers ..why take him there instead of letting someone take him to a home..his owner could call LANTA and get them in touch....hopefully his owner finds him before the shelter puts him down in a few days...

A couple years ago I rescued a dog I found wandering the 8th Street Bridge. I took pictures of him immediately and made copies. Then I took him on a leash and some copies of his picture to the Humane Society in Allentown. I made the report, posted his picture there and brought him back home with me to foster him safely. 2 days later the shelter called to say the owner contacted them looking for their dog. I then contacted the owner and they came to me to pick him up.

No need to overburden our already overcrowded animal shelters if you or someone you know can safely foster an animal. If the owner doesn't come forward to claim the animal within 1-2 weeks, then you can decide the fate of that animal, be it the shelter or just keeping it.

He looks like a very sweet dog. I hope his owners find him or that he at least finds a good home that will love him.

I share the exact same thoughts as "friend of animals" and "Just one of you." I hope that the bus driver who offered to adopt this pup is keeping close tabs on his status at the shelter so that he can rescue him if the owners do not come forward. And if he does, I thank him for opening his heart and his home to this dog. There are so many pets in this world who deserve so much more than what life deals them. I wish I could save every dog!

Does this woman not know that the shelter kills almost every animal that they get unless of course the animal can bring in donations and sympathy such as with the dog Nate.
