Darcy says she still has a big following

Full story: The Morning Call

I f you have the idea that places of worship always are free from intrigue and infighting, you're sadly mistaken.

This is why people stop going to Church. I suggest that "Rev" Darcy look elsewhere or pitch a tent like the old days if she feels that strongly about preaching. Otherwise, she should just get her own house in order.
Maybe the catholics have the right idea. Everyone answers to one boss, the bishop. Go where he tells you to go or hit the road.

She's acting like a spoiled child, and I think only some jail time will straighten her out. Maybe then she will realize that this isn't "the Lord's" plan. Maybe they can give her a choice: either jail or a mental institution. She definitely needs to be in one of the two!

Too bad Darcy forgot that the UCC is a church - not an episode of "Survivor".

It is amazing to me that Darcy pulls out the race card. People don't treat her (or the rest of the Atiyehs)the way they do because she is of "Middle Eastern decent", they treat her the way they do because she is an abusive bully with no respect for the law or the opinions of others.

What Marcy Darcy could do is start a blog! On Blogs you can preach whatever you want! There are a lot of whack jobs doing that, preaching their blog as Gospel, she would fit right in!

I doubt God is telling her to stay, it is more like the several hundred voices in her head.

Two points:

Brian Johnson was absolutely correct not to interfere. Read the First Amendment, and be careful what you wish for, or we will be not beteer than some autocratic, fanatic religiously based countries.

Secondly, I'm a little disappointed that Bill is providing a forum for this woman. She obviously is delusional and in need of some type of psychiatric intervention. It is not helping matters by giving her an outlet to express her views when the better place for it is a couch in a professional's office.

Evidently Darcy has mental issues. What else can it be? Very weird behavior, can't be from a rational person. She sounds like she's really into herself.

charlie roe was my 7th grade social studies teacher. He used to cry a lot which was really weird. The point is nobody reading this cares just like most people reading about Darcy don't freaking care.

If they put her in jail, she and her supporters will act like she's a martyr and it could backfire. The national UCC really needs to step in but I'm not sure that's their policy and it sounds like she won't leave even if they do. In school she had a great gift of hospitality, she cooked these wonderful foods for our potluck suppers, she was everyone's mom. This is not the same Fifi I knew then and I'm frightened for her. Something has gone terribly wrong in her mind.

I disagree with you on the first point. This isn't a matter of free practice of religion. It is a matter of trespassing, property, and labor disputes. When she was fired from her position, the church membership and leadership has every right to appeal to legal means to remove her from the property. This applies the same to any business where a fired employee refuses to leave. Failure to remove yourself from a property where you are not wanted is defiant trespass. She meets all the conditions: instructed to leave more than one time, causing a disturbance at the location, continued refusal to leave. She even meets the conditions of breaking and entering when she broke a window and climbed in.
There is a big difference between Freedom of Religion and religious tolerance and what this arrogant and aggressive person is doing. She needs to get counseling or incarceration, not protection under the 1st Amendment. Those protections only come for those who act reasonably.

Yeah, I do Nazareth, I know your favorite son blogger all too well.
Maybe he and Darcy should get together. They would make a fun couple. All those voices in their heads could create their own whole new congregation, the Church of the Holy Bloggers! LOL!

Oh, and i would never claim that just because you were from Nazareth that you were him, because you know, HE SWEARS he never posts anon or lurks. LOL!

Back to the topic: Darcy is nuts, and Bill just gave her rope, depending on your point of view, she is either roping in more supporters or making a noose for herself. Smart people will figure it out.

I would assume that the Church and Darcy signed an employment contract. If they did, this is not a matter of freedom of religion; it is simply a contractual dispute which CAN be resolved by the Courts. Of course, if Darcy can establish a Title VII violation, that makes this story much more interesting.

She must have voices in her head if she thinks the Lord wants her to stay. Too bad, she doesn't know the difference between Satan, and the Lord. As for her large following, why aren't they helping her find a place to worship? She has no business at Salem, and needs to move on.
