You may not like it, but Halloween is a holiday. Like Easter and Christmas, it is derived from pagan holidays. It is a time to celebrate and remember those we love that have died.
If you don't enjoy the holiday, I suggest you not celebrate.
Well said. Especially since holidays like Christmas and Easter are Christian holidays. Sheesh! Can't we all just get along and celebrate?!?

The Allentown Halloween Parade was great except the spectators along the route were all rude and disrespectfull of those other spectators trying to watch. I don't think throwing out candy should be anymore. My son was actually told by another parent that he can't pick the up candy in front of them because his son has a cast on his leg and they were their first, she told this to other kids and parents as well. Also can't see anything because no one sits down anymore and are half way out in the middle of the road. The one float wouldn't move until they moved back.. Maybe they should re think this and other parades. This will be our last one!

Over the past few years the city of Allentown has taken over running the halloween parade itself but that very soon will end. An organization will be taking over with the plans to make the "Oldest Halloween Parade in America" A Major destination Parade such as MardiGras and Macy's thanksgiving. Yes it is Allentowns!(did't know that did you?) The first Parade was in 1904 and has run continusiously since).

Watch for more information soon including A new web Page as " www.oldesthalloweenparadeinamerica.com " to be running soon

I think the Halloween Parade was fun, but then again I was one of the cheerleaders(Allentown Lightning) and we were all having fun! Who doesn't like parades? Go Allentown Lightning and Born into the Arts dance studio!!!!!
