Agrre, agree, agree! You want your child to participate in anything other than the educational aspect of public school then you pay for it. School boards wonder where they can cut costs, where there's a no-brainer. Why should the property owner's tax number be tied in with the sports' programs, food courts, olympic size swimming pools, artificial turf, etc. Damn it, give us a break!

The tax of 5.3% is more than most of us see in a raise in our pays for the year. Not every kid is in sports, yes raise money through fund raising and get the click moms to do something instead of gossiping at athletic events. They should raise more money not just sell candy once the whole time the sport is going. People use to have bake sales, car washes etc. We need to stop being lazy and do something. If we raised mnore money for sports ourselves taxes could go down or stay the same. How about taxing the people who have homes the size of three properties the right amount of tax. Stop pushing the elderly out of the homes they had all there lives!!!

The superintendent of Catasauqua School District just moved into a new office. And maybe if the school board would have thought ahead, the taxes would not have paid for the astronomical prices to run the busses to the multimillion dollar school in East Allen Township. What will happen next year when the teachers want their raises? You will probably find many more families applying for reduced and/or free lunches. Good for Sally Reiss placing a "NAY" vote for the increase of school taxes for the 2011/2012 school year. Do these teachers deserve to make $80,000/year, only to have the whole summer off, weekends, and all major holidays, a week long Christmas vacation. Who else gets all of these perks?

Do you know that 21 teachers were laid off during this past budget cycle. Do you know the teachers took a freeze. Do you know that administration building was way to big but Sally voted for it. Check the offices out in this place- it is a palace. So who took the brunt of this past budget- why the 5.3 % when the teachers took a freeze and 21 were laid off plus teachers aides, transportation people, secretariees, etc. No adminisatrators were released. So wall st. bankers and investors deserve to make 6 figures and even some making seven, does anyone deserve what they make??? That is an interesting question. Does the Gov. aide deserve a 179,000 salary- Roger Nutt- and I could go on and on with salary figures and if they are warrarented. Do doctors have to make as much as they do- 150 and office visit??? Maybe, you tell me because it appears you know the answers.

It is astronomical what the Catasauqua residents must pay, now the garbage bill is more, the sewer bills are going up in April, property taxes are going up, cable bills are being raised, who can afford to go to the pool, no wonder they are in debt, according to the Catty Press, by over $200,000 and only 54 family passes were bought in 2011, who can afford it? Will the teachers take another pay freeze this year, look at the new board room that is in the elementary school, what a paradise! Makes my house look like a dump compared to this Taj Mahal, what was wrong with the multi purpose room for these meetings?
