The recipe sent in for the nutroll today is missing some sort of leavening . . . yeast, baking soda, etc. Nothing in that recipe will make it rise . . .

The lack of leavening must be the problem...I tried the recipe, hoping to recreate the rolls my grandmother made every year at Christmas. No luck. The rolls were dense creations, not worth eating. Also, the filling was WAY more than enough for "one roll" (perhaps because the dough didn't rise enough?). I split the walnut filling between two rolls, and the poppy seed I probably had enough for 4 rolls.
