Southport residents blame ferry for erosion issues
The StarNews of Wilmington reports Tuesday that some people who live in the area say that ferry trips between Southport and Bald Head Island are eroding the land and creating wakes so strong that they have worn away sand and exposed pilings.

You have gotten to be kidding me?!!! No boats has to go by to make it rough at times in Cape Fear River. The current runs so strong through there at times and I just can't believe some people are pointing their fingers at Bald Head Island Ferry's. I live and was born in Southport and I can not believe people would say this!
