The number stated that receive any portion of their support from from welfare assistance--including food stamps-- is 29,900,000 or roughly 8% of the total population in the United States.
This breaks down to:
39% white-- 11,661,000 of 29,900,000 recipients
38% black-- 11,362,000 of 29,900,000
17% Hispanic-- 5,083,000 of 29,900,000
Now, let's try some other numbers--
If 47% of people in the US (notice that this figure was "people" and not "voters") do not pay any taxes, this probably has a little something to do with the following:
In 2010, there were about 307 million people in the US
About 60 million were under the age of 14
About 16 million were between 15 and 18
About 40 million were over the age of 65
About 5 million were stay-at-home parents
About 9% were unemployed--which would be about 28 million
That's a total of 149 million people--or, guess what, about 48% of Americans.
Now, some of those people have jobs, and pay taxes, but there is that 9% or so on welfare (who might be represented in that 9% of people who are unemployed--so I won't count them twice).
But, yes, around 47% of Americans do not pay income tax (they have to be paying other taxes, as you can't even buy bread without paying taxes)--which is the figure the GOP is using.
So, 47% of people don't pay income tax because ... 47% of people don't have an income.
They are too young, too old, stay-at-home moms, unemployed, or too injured to work.
No GOP Bullsh*t--Just simple math--
Freddie you're going to have to "dumb it down" for Earl and Harley.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office on Wednesday released a report estimating that 6 million people would be subject to the Obamacare tax, approximating $7 billion in taxes in 2016 with each of the 6 million people paying at least $695.

As the Washington Examiner notes, most of those 6 million are in the middle class, with 4.7 million having incomes “500 percent of the federal poverty level,” which the CBO projects will be “$60,000 for individuals and $123,000 for families of four by 2016.”

The CBO describes the Obamacare tax as: "the greater of: a flat dollar amount per person that rises to $695 in 2016 and is indexed by inflation thereafter (the penalty for children will be half that amount and an overall cap will apply to family payments); or a percentage of the household's income that rises to 2.5 percent for 2016 and subsequent years (also subject to a cap)."

In 2008, Obama pledged “no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase -- not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes."

The Supreme Court, by a 5-4 vote, ruled Obamacare was constitutional because it was a tax and, in so doing, ensured one of Obama's central promises from 2008 was broken.

Just another "broken promise" by the current occupier in the White House.

This TAX INCREASE might effect you !

Are you suggesting that the Democrats do nothing to decrease the deficit? Someone needs to pay their fair share of taxes. Either the 1% at the bottom or the 1% at the top. Since you don't want to tax the "job creators that don't create jobs", it looks like it will be the other 1%.

The opposite party I will support President. For the past 100 years times have been better and more stable when the congress and president are of opposite party. When one party is in total control they run roughshod over the people and the other party. When they are of opposite parties only the bills that need to be passed get passed.

When Washington Post columnist Marc Thiessen and the Government Accountability Institute reported that President Obama has attended less than half of his Presidential Daily Briefs (PDBs) on intelligence, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney called the findings "hilarious." The next day, U.S. Libyan Ambassador Chris Stevens and three American staff members were murdered.
According to Mr. Carney, Mr. Obama doesn't need in-person briefings because the president gets the written version on his iPad:
Mr. Obama's newfound interest in attending his daily intelligence briefings won't undo last week's horrific events in the Middle East. But perhaps it may help in preventing similar atrocities in the days ahead.
" Prevent similar atrocities in the days ahead "
Let's just "hope" it does.
About time he is doing the job he was elected to do.
Two weeks ago, Peter Schweizer’s Government Accountability Institute reported that President Obama was ditching over half of his intelligence briefings. According to their study, drawn from Obama’s own White House calendar,“During his first 1,225 days in office, Obama attended his PDB just 536 times — or 43.8 percent of the time. During 2011 and the first half of 2012, his attendance became even less frequent — falling to just over 38 percent.” Breitbart News covered Obama’s briefings shortcomings from the outset, bringing pressure to bear on the Obama administration to get their president to sit down and hear our intelligence. Our first story posted September 10, 2012. The next day, our consulate in Benghazi was attacked and our ambassador was murdered.

The Obama administration immediately fought back, with White House spokesman Jay Carney explaining,“The President of the United States gets the presidential briefing every day.”

That sent the Washington Post’s Obama-acolyte fact checker Glenn Kessler on a rampage. First, he labeled the claim that Obama “skips” his intelligence briefings “bogus.” He gave it three Pinocchios. Then he updated his column to give the claim four Pinocchios, explaining,“Upon reflection, we now realize that the GAI report had a bit of a math problem. The White House public schedule does not list meetings on weekends, so Obama automatically loses 28 percent of the “meetings” because of that fact.” This, of course, was not true – the GAI report took into account weekends, since it cross-tabulated White House data with Politico’s own data on Obama’s activities, which includes weekends.

But Kessler and the Obama lackeys have another problem. The public outcry over Obama missing his intelligence briefings has caused Obama to start attending his intelligence briefings.

According to Kessler’s own Washington Post.

Today, the Washington Post reported that President Obama is now attending nearly “100 percent” of his intelligence briefings. If the original claim was so bogus, why is Obama suddenly overhauling his schedule to attend significantly more intelligence briefings?

If these were all lies, it's news to Obama.

“Next thing you know,” writes Al Kamen of the Post,“the White House Calendar, starting Sept. 14 (four days after Thiessen’s column) and for every workday last week and up to Monday, says that Obama — and sometimes, Vice President Biden — is briefed. No comment yet from the White House on why the apparent recent uptick in Obama’s ‘attendance.’”

According to Kessler and his other fact-checking Obama bootlickers, this must all be just a giant coincidence. Unless he’s willing to give his colleagues at the Washington Post a few Pinocchios.

Bout time !!!

yes stop giving money to billion dollar industries. We can start there first and how about those billionaires and millionaires that pay not taxes what so ever and even get tax refunds that is a spending problem I say we cut them off first. Also lets cut off the government run health care for congress they have plenty of money to buy their own on the private market that can save millions. We should cut spending at the top but cutting spanning alone will not fix the issue. Taxes will have to go up. and it comes down to how many people do you want to piss off in the next election. the 1% at the top or the 99%.

FACTS YOU'LL NEVER HEAR ON FOX
NEWS:

FACT: Roger Ailes is president of Fox News Channel, chairman of the Fox
Television Stations Group. Ailes was a media consultant for Republican
presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and George H. W. Bush.

JOBS -- Under Obama, 4.5 Million private sector jobs have been
created in just the past 3 years - this after Bush losing 750K per month at the
end of his term. Labor Force Statistics from the Current
Population Survey (Source: BLS Rpt. LNU02000000)

GOP MISLEAD WITH:
"LESS PEOPLE WORKING NOW THAN 2009" - These job losses occurred during Obama's
first year. It took time to turn things around after Bush's 750K jobs lost per
month. If you read the graph at bottom you can clearly see that under Obama job
losses were turned around.

DEBT -- per Congressional Budget
Office -- BUSH LEFT Obama $1.2 Trillion DEFICIT, and 3 Trillion in DEBT
projected into Obama's term. Add to this the worst economic crisis in 80
years. GOP 2006 Senate, 49/49/2. Who's to blame for our
debt?

STOCK MARKET- Under Bush, DOW closed at around 8000. Under
Obama, we're now at 13000! Obama's policies have benefited "ALL our retirements
and 401K" with stock market recovery!

ECONOMIC GROWTH - Positive Growth
now AFTER BEING HANDED Negative by Bush.

TARP - with the threat of
further regulation, most of TARP has been paid back w/ interest! Under Bush,
this $$$ was loaned unconditionally amounting to corporate
welfare.

TAXES, taxes are lower for all but the richest, despite GOP
obstruction! GOP recently fought tooth-and-nail to increase the burden on the
middle class via the payroll tax. Thank You Mr. Obama. Furthermore, Tax Policy
Center -- taking a close look at Romney's proposed tax and economic plan ---
concluded that it would cut taxes for the richest Americans and actually raise
taxes on the poor.

OBAMACARE: Nixon, McCain, Romney and Gingrich, all FOR
mandate before they were against it! Romney implemented the ORIGINAL Obamacare
and mandate was originally a GOP idea!

TERRORISM - under Obama's
leadership and renewed focus he promised during the 2008 election - we got
Bin Laden!!!

AMERICAN LIVES - Egypt and Libya uprising - NO AMERICAN
DEATHS!!!

*** All of these things and more with NOTHING but GOP
Obstruction and fingerprinting!

IN TRUTH, IT TAKES A
FAILED PERSON TO CALL OBAMA A FAILURE.

Median household incomes fell by another 1.1% in August, according to a Sentier Research report released Tuesday.

Since Obama took office, according to the report, household incomes are down more than 8%. And since the economic recovery began in June of 2009, household incomes have fallen by 5.7%.

"Even though we are technically in an economic recovery, real median annual household income is having a difficult time maintaining its present level, much less recovering," said Sentier co-founder and former Census Bureau official Gordon Green.

These figures come as, Business Insider notes, the Census Bureau released its annual report showing three million more people were in poverty in 2011 than 2009, and the “average inflation-adjusted income for households in the middle 20% is now lower than it's been since 1995.”

In addition, The Health Care Cost Institute released a report that found “per-capita costs jumped 4.6% last year,” and a Center for Disease Control and Prevention report found there were more than one million uninsured Americans in the first three months of 2012 compared with last year.
