<quoted text>They do that now in India my friend. We are a few years away from feasible battery storage, but we are fairly close. There is massive research going on because obviously that will be quite valuable
to say the least. It seems to me if we are sending spacecraft to Mars we will figure out storage issues of batteries. This country has horrific infrastructure problems, not the least of which is the power grid. I bet it is built out over the next ten years. And managing the electric flow will also be overcome. I agree
with Pickens, wind will be one component of US macro energy policies in the future, to help enable solutions to petroleum imports.
India is hardly the home of cutting-edge technology. They are still farming with buffaloes and oxen. They produce vast amounts of pollution from factories and pollute all their rivers with dead bodies and excrement. But then you hippies always had a thing about the wisdom of the Mystic East.

The liberal mantra-

"There is nothing more exhilarating than telling others how to run their lives."

The liberal motto-

"We will force you to run your life like we tell you, whether you like it or not."

That's how they reach the philosophy of wind and solar power for all whether it works or not.

The conservative mantra-

"Use what you have, make it better if possible."

The conservative motto-

"Live and let live."

"Live and let live" would include you using power sources that do not endanger my offspring's air and water. As long as you agree with that, then you "live and let live"...

Too bad you weren't on the end of my gun in Vietnam calling me a hippy dipshit. Then you would have seen some pollution. And moron I haven't met anyone from India yet that wasn't twice as smart as you. That includes their dead bodies in rivers.

I see. That explains why the US economy is booming. You're a nasty SOB to boot and are filled with vacuous hostility. Clearly a Rumsfeld/Cheney man.

They been making that claim about the batteries almost being ready since the eighties. They were even looking at room temp superconductive materials then. Supposely they were suppose to have the whole thing solved by now and we would be abble to store and move power with zero lost. Well the turn of the century cam and left and here we are.
I would be willing to bet that it will be several more decades before they finally get the problem solved at least.
As far as sending a spacecraft to mars they are looking at either solar panels/batteries or a nuclear reactor.
Your optimism underwhelms me. Wow, several more decades! I guess you don't have children so it's not worth a 20 year investment. Hey that reminds me. I sent an email to Senator Biden. This whole space thing got me thinking. I suggested they change the mission of NASA, Natl Aeronautical Sciences Administration ( if thats the right acronym) to NESA. Natl Energy Sciences administration. Stop space exploration and spend a decade using the scientists to make the US energy self sufficient.
JFK sent a man to the moon in a decade. I think they can develop batteries etc in a decade. I think its a great idea. Yes my mind has been challenged by all the negativity in this site.

Who cares about poop flinging monkeys being hostile again?!?! WHAT ASTOUNDS ME IS THE FUCKTARDS THAT ARE SO HYPNOTIZED THAT THEY THINK CLEAN AIR AND WATER IS A POLITICAL ISSUE. THAT'S ASTOUNDING. Of course we can develop sufficient batteries, the navy and nasa are already using such things. It's greedy POS who stand to loose money from upsetting the status quo who are killing all things good in this age. The lies are flying all around any subject that will upset the power elite's present track.

The power elite went bankrupt this year. Turn on your TV.The status quo is as dead as Bear Stearns and Lehman Bros. They killed the goose that lay the golden egg. Get with the program. And try to drink clean water and breathe clean air. You'll live longer.
