Continuing a long-standing tradition of giving back to its local communities, Boston’s The Gourmet Pizza kicks off its annual Valentine’s fundraiser benefiting Children’s Miracle Network, a national non-profit organization comprised of 170 children’s hospitals (CMN), on January 28. For the event, the Denver restaurant will feature two unique giving opportunities designed to raise funds that will be donated directly to The Children’s Hospital in Denver.
From February 14 through February 17, Boston’s will sell its popular, one-of-a-kind heart-shaped pizzas and donate $1 from every pie sold to The Children’s Hospital in Denver. As with the entire menu, the heart-shaped pizzas are available in store, for take out, or by delivery (if available) for all four days. In addition to heart-shaped pizzas, Boston’s will sell special paper hearts that patrons can write Valentine’s messages and designs on for a $1 donation. Paper hearts will be available beginning January 28 through February 17 and will be displayed in the restaurant for the duration of the fundraiser.
Children’s Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children through fundraising for children’s hospitals across North America. Each year the 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals provide the finest medical care, life-saving research and preventative education to help millions of kids overcome diseases and injuries of every kind.
"Children’s Miracle Network and our member hospitals are proud to be partnering with Boston’s The Gourmet Pizza for such a great event,” said Marie Osmond, Children’s Miracle Network co-founder. "We are grateful to the restaurants and customers that made last year’s fundraiser such a success and demonstrated that there’s always a way to help those in need. We are excited to make this year’s event our greatest yet!"
Building on the tradition first started by its parent company, Boston Pizza in Canada, Boston’s The Gourmet Pizza began selling its specialty heart-shaped pizzas and paper hearts in 1999 as a way to help raise much-needed funds for local charities. As a result of this fundraiser, Boston Pizza and Boston’s The Gourmet Pizza collectively donated more than $497,100 to local charities last year.
