No offense to any of the employees who work at Morton and no offense to the town of Silver Springs, where obviously some very nice people live, but I was sorry the place did not burn to the ground. Then maybe the railroad crossing there would not claim any more lives like what happened to my beloved nephew in August. And no one could seem to figure out who would/should have been responsible for having gates put up for when the stupid train comes through in bright sunlight making the flashing lights practically invisible. The plant could be nothing but ashes, like what i have left of my nephew.

Your nephew is to blame for his death. He was driving that night, nobody else, just him

Had there been gates at that crossing, he would still be driving. Not his fault that the truck got stuck in the poorly maintained tracks. Even some of the locals said that a LOT of vehicles have gotten stuck there.

I live next to the tracks and sorry your nephew was killed. He was on the cell phone. I honestly belive the railroad should put up crossing gates but they probally dont think it is cost effective. I lost my best friend to a train and that is what they told his widow

I must correct you, her nephew was not to blam. It was not the truck driver's fault at all. Yes he was driving and some say he was on the phone but that wasn't the cause of his death.

Everyone in Wyoming county and other counties that have volenteer firefighters should be thankful to those who are willing to take the time out of their lives to help someone else. These people are sometimes forgotten and are always there for people, not for glory or fame but to help others out.
Are you kidding?
Most rural fires are SET by volunter firemen

yeah you talked to the locals?? bad ideal considering most have nothing better to do then scratch there butts i agree the young man was driving it is law to stop and look at a railroad crossing and on top of that i grew up there in in my life there silver spring is one of the safest places to live drive and everything its the idiots that speed thru there and have no driving skills to begin with that get hurt ...sorry to tell you but thank god i moved to the city at least everyone here drives silly!
