Since Senator Robert Byrd has so much influence in W. V. why does he not do something about
Chrysler losing 70% of its dealerships in W. V?

I typed the first e mail in haste. This is merely a correction.

Senator Byrd is in the hospital fighting a staph infection. Rockefeller is holding hearings.

I don't think Byrd or any other politician should have that much influence in a private business matter. That's the problem now, everyone looks to the government to bail them out or take care of all of our problems. The auto business is paying for years of shoddy products that have been replaced by cheaper and better built foreign cars. U.S. auto makers have done too little too late.

Jeez, what a loss, I can't buy a Sebring within a few miles of my home or one of the other crappy vehicles they make. It's real simple folks, make a product people want and you won't need bailed out or need to close down.

I know it is a loss and a hardship on the state but just wanted to add that the dealership in Kingwood WV survived the cuts and is one where people are treated honestly and fairly. I know it doesn't help much as it is far away, but we have had good experiences with this one.

Greetings!!!!

Say want to say about Paul. I have known him personally since he rented an apartment above our resturant. He has come a long way (granted he has often been known for shady deals) but you have to hand it to him. He is probably worth a
million dollars. For a poor man he has done okay for himself. He does not have a policeman in front of his business forcing anyone to deal with him.

No, no one forces anybody to do business there. I've bought several (way back from Paul Sr.) Paul Jr. was handed down a business built up by his father. I'm sure he has worked hard keeping it going since. In this economy I would think he will do better dealing in used vehicles without operating under Crysler. BEST OF LUCK TO THEM.

Greetings!!!!

I have met Paul Jr. a few times. Each time I seen him he was polite and well-mannered. Paul Sr.
knew what he was doing when he handed over the business to Paul Jr.
I too join with luci in wishing them the best of luck.

Greetings:

Senator Byrd does have that much influence in W. V. He singlehandely has brought more pork in a state which needs it the most.
Senator Rockefeller has a "byrd" brain. Unfortunately, Chrysler is in a nest of its own making.
Incidentally, I am a master of studdering.

Chrysler actually was profitable until they merged with Mercedes who was having the quality control issues. They tore down the board of directors and robbed Chrysler dry of its capital then broke off the marriage. Your government allowed them to do this. This is all documented in several respected automotive journals and is sad that this came to pass. Another problem with American automakers is they became dependent upon the Republican way - operate with HUGE profit margins no matter what it takes including eating the profit.

I was informed by a friend that Paul Boggs Sr.
has been deceased for sometime.
I had not seen Paul for a number of years. Living out of state you do not receive news as fast as you do in the hills.

Paul Jr. will have a hard time filling his fathers footsteps.
