Agency targets Indian mascots
The Michigan Department of Civil Rights filed a complaint Friday with the U.S. Department of Education 's Office of Civil Rights, asking to ban the use of American Indian mascots and imagery in K-12 schools because it denies equal rights to American Indian students.

This is a joke. I don't know about any if the other schools they r talking about but I know in Dowagiac we take pride I'm our name and mascot. All races in the city if dowagiac take pride in the name. The tribe excepts the name so I don't see how some idiot that don't live here can file some stupid complaint that its effecting the Indian culture. It should be left up to the tribe of that community to decide if they should keep it or not.
