Are there alot of BEARS in the Confluence area???

I heard about a bear being killed by a truck out on Rte.40. Does anyone know if it was a big bear or a baby bear? Are there many bear in the Confluence area?

just drive over Sugarloaf several evenings during the summer--you'll probably see one or more. There are bear on every hill around town and occasionally in the Transfer Bottom.

I was just in Confluence and a man was talking to my brother about a big Black Bear that was on his property, and he said it was not unusual to see them.

I was in Confluence last week on Monday and there was a bear up a tree over by the dam's spillway at the camp ground area. The game warden and fire department were there and were asking for someone with a bucket truck to come help get the bear out of the tree..once it was tranquilized, of course.
