I'm in the same boat as you. I am from Confluence and grew up there and moved out because of finding a job out of the area about 35 years ago. I still have family there that I visit and I can't place where Koontz Drive is either. It sounds as if it may be one of the little side alleys off of 281.. maybe.

Thank you for your reply. Is it the stretch going toward Ursina or the straight 'stretch' toward Harnedsville.

Anyway.. sympathy and prayers to his family and friends and prayers for the injured person and his family and friends too.

Going toward Ursina. I can't figure out how he lost control at the place where he did.

Thanks for the info.. I thought about that but still can't place a embankment to roll.. it's level in that area. the way the newspaper worded it I was thinking it went down over a hill then rolled onto it's roof.. hard to say how it happened to roll right now it's just tragic for the family to endure such heart ache regardless.. we should have compassion for those who are going through rough times no matter..somebody has lost a loved one...pray for them

Turkeyfooter.. newspaper said 281 which would be going toward Ursina .. Harnedsville I believe that stretch would be 523...Oden Street is actually Route 523.. Mae West is actually 281 also which leads to route 40 Hope this was some help :)

you can see where he ran over the guardrail and went towards the river. up from where he hit there is a bank. looks to me like the car never tried to go around the curve.

I heard that he and someone else was racing on the stretch. In our day.. the fellas (some gals) would start at the Confluence end and race toward Ursina. Sounds as if they were starting at the Ursina end and going toward Confluence. There were some hot rods and daredevils back in our racing days.. and for the love and grace of God.. no one got killed.

That thought crossed my mind.. bc there had been no reports in the newspaper of racing/drinking..so at this point it is all hear say and assumptions..so until the facts are in i'd rather not say anything ..continuing prayers for the family..God be with them

People are so pathetic, all they have to do is talk about one's family. Does it really matter if he was 59? I have seen older race, really though it doesnt matter. It took his life now we sit without a father and a husband, and a grandfather. But ill tell you it was due to racing, racing with a so called best friend that is nothing but a worthless coward that had to run from the scene, to afraid to face the consequences. That's okay though someday he will get his. And it also doesnt matter if it was a ford focus or a ford mustang who gives a shit! He didnt fail to make the turn, everybody is just too stupid to see the picture that there was some kind of foul play involved maybe not intentional but something went wrong. We will never get the answer's we deserve, because of ignorance. God know's and so does my Dad!!

Well it is nice to see someone thinks my comment is nut's, must have been a family member of the other driver go figure. Well everyone is surely entitled to there own opinion, but im not gonna sit around and read pathetic bullshit about my father, and people think they know all that happened, of course no newspaper is gonna say the name of the other driver that he was racing with, why would they when he left the scene of the accident? It's a shame nothing will ever get done about the situation either, probably cause my DAD didnt have an important last name. Someday KARMA will take care of those that deserve to be taken care of. Until then we all suffer the loss of a Wonderful man that didnt even see what was coming to him. To Frank it was a focus, dont see why it mattered. I was trying to make a point in my last comment.

Let them talk hun .. My family was talked about too.. Called nutss and crazy.. They are all gonna talk anyways.. YOu know the truth and the ppl that left know what happend.. Thats something they have to deal with.. İt must be hard for them to look in the mirror knowing they left and did not try to help now that nuts.. Most ppl with a sane mind would have stayed and try to help.. Hang in there.. Thier Judgment Day is coming too...

I agree it really dosen't matter about his age .. what kind of car he was driving ..I was just saying that I had my doubts because of that is just not so common nothing more.. my thoughts and prayers are still with just don't let your heart become hardened to people some do care and you have my heart goes out to you..and no I am not connected to the other family none what so whatever.. Let me tell you first hand they have nothing to hold there heads up high about either. Never have..you had a good dad...sincere apology if I offened you.. that was not my intention..
