Verizon DSL service in Confluence has been, at best, poor since October of 2012. Personally I have reported the poor quality or lack of service to the PA Attorney General 3 times since then. This week, the internet service has been intermittent, affecting everyone in town, including businesses and the Post Office.

I have tried to get Verizon to issue me a statement about the problems they are having with the local servers and what is being done to remedy the problem, but have only received credits to my account.

I think I have taken this as far as I can as one person. Is anyone interested in taking on Verizon as a community?

Its no better in Somerset. Mine has been out a lot. Several times for more than half the day. Just two days ago it was out for over 19 hours. At least you have gotten credits. They won't even do that for me. They tell me my service has to be out for over 24 hours straight before they will give me a credit! Yet they had no problem raising my bill $5 a month so I now pay $35 a month for the big 1 mps I get! I can get 20 mps from Comcast for $35 a month for 6 months course then it goes up to like 60 but still thinking about it since they are more reliable than Verizon!

Change your service to another carrier! That will show them. LOL

Unfortunately, we don't have much of an option. My only other option would be internet service through a satellite provider, which is equally unreliable.

I have a work around, which is tethering my phone either by USB or WI-FI, but most people here do not have that option.

How has your Confluence DSL connection been over the last six weeks? Any headway with your complaint?

Mine has been nearly flawless with a steady 2.8Mbps.

It's been much better, although slow sometimes after 7 or 8pm. In that case, I tether my phone and enjoy speeds 3-5 times faster than DSL.
