I'm surprised that aluminum foil is still relatively inexpensive. I would have thought it would have risen along with guns & ammo.

Enough is enough! This is another example why only law enforcement and military should be able to carry firearms. It is bad enough our children are able to use virtual firearms in violent anti-female anti-minority video games.

Where's the CHANGE you promised President Obama??? We need tougher and better laws that work for 2009 not 1776.

As Dogbert says, "Bah!"

That "solution" will not work in the U.S. when SCOTUS has ruled there is a reasonable right to firearms ownership. Moreover, there are literally millions of responsible firearms owners in the U.S. that one never sees on the news.

You're the opposite of the right wing bogeymen. You're the contingent the responsible firearms owners fear. The true solution will be a compromise that respects the Constitutional rights of people to own firearms while keeping them away from misfits.

In regard to your calls for change, firearms, violent video games, and sexism are comparatively low priorities on Obama's agenda.

Meanwhile, you'll get my PS3 when you can pry it from my cold, dead hands. If the economy remains in free-fall, it's one of the few cheap forms of entertainment available to me.

Oh yeah, I know - English, German, Hebrew, Arabic, and Pashto. But, the last three I sort of grew up with and learned naturally. And "too" and "to" also. And Spanish is a given.

Yes Gun Nut I know nothing is going to change and yeah it does make me a little mad but what can you do? I know people who have been shot to death, do you? I don't want a full gun ban just on assault weapons and some handguns. You are very self-righteous about going back in there. That shows a lot of class. You can fire your gun off right in the spot where two people tragically died. Good for you tough guy. I still hope they get shut down and they might. And I wouldn’t want your help anyway I’d probably get shot. See I’m not a scared chicken s. like you, I can defend myself without a gun. It just makes you feel so strong to have it in your car doesn't it? The truth is most people, including me, put Obama in office even after the cling to your guns and bibles comment so not everybody is like you. There is hope for a better tomorrow with less gun violence and less violence in general.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU CAN'T DEFEND YOURSELF WITHOUT A GUN? YOU COULD BE DISABLED 5 MINUTES FROM NOW. THEN WHAT GENIUS? READ THE CONSTITUTION AND SOME HISTORY. IF THE FOUNDING FATHERS WERE ALIVE THEY WOULD WANT US TO HAVE MACHINE GUNS AND CANNON. clueless you are about the intent of the founding fathers. THEIR INTENT IS JUST AS VALID NOW AS IF 1776 WAS YESTERDAY.

They should also be the only ones who are allowed to practice religion, free speech, assembly etc....

Just kidding! I want to to take the time to thank the Military and Law Enforcement for the sacrifices they make so that people like yourself enjoy the freedoms you choose are worthy of keeping, and those you think need to be tossed away like refuse.

I'm a staunch supporter of firearms rights, but just as some people should not drive, some people clearly must be deprived of firearms due to their mental instability and criminal history. The issue in play, though, is the NRA and gun owners often see any attempt to legislate firearm's ownership as a declaration of war on their rights. This is a false dichotomy and needs rational solutions, not "all or nothing" mindsets.
Thats funny you dont sound Staunch in your support whatsoever. We are very very far from an "all or nothing" compromise. I also like your use of the word "reasonable" in regards to the Heller case. Obama uses that word in the same context. Just like how he said during campaign that he'd never sign a bill with earmarks....Do you see the entertainment happening here yet? We dont like anti gun legislation in the SAME WAY you dont want .gov to tell you if you can have an abortion or not. We should all agree that its frankly none of their damn business, and not up for debate or political positioning, or open for popular interpretation. That is for the supreme court. Shooting guns for sport, hunting or self defense is a RIGHT not a privledge. If you are a convicted felon, you give up that right. I agree crazy people should not own guns, but whats to stop them from killing someone with a bow and arrow, or a car, or by poisoning, or a knife?
Stating guns kill people is like saying spoons are the reason Rosie ODonnel is FAT. Its people killing people, climb out from under your sheets and realize this is a tough world we live in. And prepare to defend your family the way ALL men in ALL civilizations have had to do for ALL of history. Aint nothing new here, evil is evil. Evil cares not what law you throw at it.
If you really want to educate yourself about gun control, why not study Chicago whom boasts some of the toughest gun laws in the country, YET they broke their murder record in 08? Now try DC, same story. So whats the law going to do again?

All shows depict "Stupid dumb dad" while the women are the smart, driving force holding everything toghether. Give me a break lady.... your womens lib has caused MUCH more damage to the American family than your empty concience can fathom. Id tell you to wake up, but you were long gone along time ago....

And about your comment about anti-minority. Will you please quit playing with the white guilt garbage? Isnt it great that you can watch a black comedian on any channel for THE LAST 15 YEARS pick out the white people on the audience and just RIP on them to everyones amusement? If it was the other way around, do you think it would last ONE SECOND? Hypocrisy at its finest. Im sorry im going on, but DAMN are there some idiots out there. Im done now ;-).

SCOTUS in the Heller decision used the term "reasonable" ownership, and it is certainly the government's business about how far one's rights go. Freedom of speech, for example, does not allow you to threaten someone or call 911 incessantly because your McNuggets aren't made swiftly enough. Nor can you libel or slander another person in most situations.

You state you do not view the Second Amendment as an "all or nothing" proposal, but you seem to be on the side of the "all" proposition. That same argument is made by people who --literally -- want to own and deploy howitzers and anti-tank weapons under the guise of the Second Amewndment. The Founding Fathers did not contemplate the types of weapons available today, and the Supreme Court in Heller was careful to denote that while a Second Amendment right to bear arms does exist, it is only a reasonable right. The goverment can and does outlaw certain tyoes of destructive devices -- try buying a "Street Sweeper" after 1992 without a Class III license (good luck finding one)-- such as short-barrelled shotguns or fully automatic firearms.

If firearms owners do not contemplate this reality and continue to insist the Second Amendment is unlimited, then the day will come when they will see SEVERE limitations. Reasonable -- and I do realize the term is imprecise -- firearms legilation and enforcement is needed.

Insofar as your Obama "arguments" go, I'll not address them in detail. They are not on point and are but a weak ancillary issue.

You appear to want a war of words and have focused upon my improper use of "to" when I meant to type "too."

I stated before that I have only limited time to edit these posts, but after examining your syntax and punctutation (in English), I don't deem you a worthy opponent. Why don't you focus upon the debate and bring a counter-argument to the table?

Perhaps this series is the reason I was provoked. And your German isn't rusty, it is non existent. Computer translators won't get it done.

And I do understand typos and hurriedly structuring improperly, syntax errors, run on sentences, dangling participles, but I overlook such normally on these news threads. I don't figure anyone is looking to publish any of these ramblings. But to imply mental disorder in an attempt to put down or make jokes is equally juvenile and petty, don't you think?
