Guess that shows you were the City Commission's priorities are, parks over public safety!!! If they want a park/property so bad why don't they give up their salaries and the City Manger take a pay cut, after all she is one of the highest paid city managers with the least amount of time.

Damn 170,000 how many positions could the commission and the city manager have saved if they used that money towards employees. monster man is right combine the 170,000 with cutting the city managers pay and the commissioners who voted to purchase the property and employees could have been saved. Another park just what the City needs and how long will it be before the City even puts anything there?? Where are they going to get the money for development. Sounds like the City manager and the commission are just bringing their city down.

Police next to go
Animal Control check
Parks and Rec 1/2 gone
And what do we have left? A lot overpaid idiots, parks, over priced property on 17-92 (2 locations), a fountain and boardwalk (on nasty 17-92), parks that never get used, an over paid under skilled city manager, more parks, and more parks that never get used. You are not a Winter Park, a Maitland, nor and Orlando. Stop trying to act like it. You have trailers over a large portion of your city and a majority of the community is below the poverty level. Maybe you should help out the community instead of building a freaking park. You can't be a Winter Park with a Rachel's as a land mark!
All reasons that small governments are idiots.

Maybe I can live in that park after my house burns to the ground because you're closing the fire stations.

funny, the Commission and City Manger approve the spending of 170,000 to purchase a park, well a vacant piece of property that may be developed in 10 years the way the city leaders make decisions, but they lay off 3 more employees and I am sure there will be more to come.

Well, will Commissioner Susan Doerner ban jet skis on that lake too, or is it just on the lake where she lives???????

The above posts look like what Bob Goff, the former mayor who does not pay his taxes has to say.
