Note to self: Reschedule trip to shooting range with any family member afflicted with suicidal tendencies...

What's hilarious about this is the Press Telegram will censor a post because they don't agree with it, or they'll censor a word like "shit," but posting a video of a mother blowing her son's head off is just fine and dandy with them.
Don't say an unpleasant word. Don't speak on uncomfortable topics, but hey! Check out the mom blowing her son's head all over everybody! Tee hee!
We live in a very sick society, and the media is a major contributor to our national pathology.

How sad. Apparently her mental illness was worse than anyone could have known. It just makes me sad to think that she was able to kill her son and herself all in the belief that she failed a queen. My prayers are with the family and may the son rest in peace.

NOT FUNNY!!!!!!!!!! She apparently needed help and somewhere along the line someone failed her. How about a little sympathy.

I know. She should find a better way to deal with her inadequacies. Like you. You're not creative, but instead of shooting someone over being a creative nothing, you just steal old jokes from South Park, and pat yourself on the back as a sort of wit.
You get to keep boring people without feeling bad about it, and everyone's happy.

Sad to see the insanity brought to the world by religion.

Isn't it wonderful how religion seems to be at the root of disasters, catastrophes, wars, massacares, in fact, most of the evil and unrest in the world?

Whereas I agree with the last two points (BoyStuff and John Bull) about religion I have to say that this is truly a sad story, and my heart breaks for the loved ones of this young man.

I don't know him and I don't know whether he was a good person or not, but to be killed by your own mother over some dillusion is disheartening.

There has been a lot of murder suicides lately in America (and the Middle East for that matter). Please, if you're gonna kill others and yourself, start with yourself.

Here's to hoping the world gets better soon. It's seriously beginning to be a depressing place to live. This story brought tears to my eyes. Where's our human spirit? Seems like killing in the name of god is the "hip" thing to do nowadays. Please humanity...Wake up!!!

No it's not because it isn't. Religion is like alcohol. It allows a-holz to justify being a-holz. Nothing more.
To blame religion itself is the reasoning of a child.

"Mitchell's father, Charles Moore, told police that Marie Moore had a history of mental illness and had previously attempted suicide and been involuntarily committed to a mental hospital in 2002 under the state's Baker Act."

'Marie Moore refers to the incident in records she left for police and Shoot Straight, saying she spent a year in and out of a "mental home" but insisted: "I'm not sick." '

Sorry Cinnomom1,
No sympathy for getting hit by a train in denial that one could see a comin' seven years earlier.

RULES TO LIVE BY:
* Don't bring a bus full of bulimics to the Cheesecake Factory.
* Don't host an AA meeting in a bar.
* Don't put a gun in the hands of a person who spent a year in and out of a mental home, but insisted, "I'm not sick" - even if it is your mother.

She said she believed she was the anti-Christ. Seems religion itself must have led her to that conclusion. With strict Southern Baptist doctrine it works to instill guilt if you so much even doubt your hypocritical preacher.
Christ forgave and loved Thomas even more for his questioning. To be preached to without the ability of recourse or discussion does lead to terrible results. An example ..... Adolph Hitler and the Nazi Party and to believe less is to put children in an oven like a-holz.

Danny, I think you have a much more pressing concern that may affect you directly:

Materialism is worse than the media, than love for money, than guns, than schitzophrenia paranoia, and yes even worst than ego/pride.

A senseless moral and spiritual tragedy is far worse than a physical tragedy. For every effect there has to be a cause, and a root cause.

Materialism is a theory that nihilism and our ego (psyche) interconnects with, the most, and is the root of all human evil. Love for money and even pride is not as bad as the theory of materialism.
