I think EVERYONE ought to have guns. The mentally impaired, juveniles, elderly. All you should have to do is pass a gun safety class and have a felony-free record. I think everyone ought to have the right to carry them anywhere, too. churches, courthouses, at work, at school, in bars.....just imagine the number of crimes we could stop if people could carry thier concealed handguns into bars, churches, work and courthouses. We would definitely prevent many of the mass murders that are so common nowadays.

Her mental illnesss was not brought on by guns, it was here religious belief that drove her mad. We will only see a increase in this type of insanity. As dellusional christans become aware that their bible has nothing to do with this current world.

OK, OK...We get it! Enough already!

Guns don't kill people..

People kill People.

That is what happened, we should be asking ourselfs why she did it.

And we should be looking around us to see who looks like they are ready to snap.

We can make this horrible event a moment of change in our lives and in the lives of others.

Look around, we are all so wrapped up in our own problems....we can't see the people who are hurting worse us.

If you think this woman snapped due to finances your wrong, her pain was there long before any finacial woes.

The build up of emotional trauma sent over over the edge.

Did we unknowingly add to her pain?

Did you give her a dirty look when she took to long in the super market line in front of you?

Did you flip her off when she accidently cut you off in traffic?

Where you the guy that never called her back after a one night stand?

Or the freind that never had time to talk to her?

The list goes on. I'm not saying you made her do it but someone should have loved her, she obviously felt like no one did, otherwise she would have had more self estem and more self worth.

WE ALL NEED TO BE JUST A LITTLE NICER RIGHT NOW.

As a tribute to that young man that never knew what was coming, lets all agree to be more civil and connect more those people that are just too sensitive for this harsh world we live in.

What's the difference when it happens. You mean to say human life is only when he/she is outside of the mother's body? How come we become so outraged if someone shoots a pregnant women and her baby dies? I don't see the same outrage if some looses a toenail. Isn't that just a bunch of cells? Something for the "pro-choice' group to think about....

too bad for the other people at the range...I wonder if they will ever pick up a gun again...everyone who wants to own a gun should have to witness this video and maybe a real life crime scene...then if you still have the overwhelming desire to own a gun you could have one...you knuckle heads

i doubt it will convince someone who owns a gun for self defense. this was an act of domestic violence and the son trusted his mother not to shoot him. she shot him in the back for gods sake. it might make you thin ktwice before going to shoot strsaight. but its not going to convince anyone not to own a gun - just the opposite.

i live in a rural area where most homes are on acreage and you cannot see most of the houses from the road. everyone has long driveways that wind through the woods - and you have no odea what is at the other end. characteristic of the folks who like to live in such areas, many have guns, shot guns, rifles, handguns, etc. they also have dogs... pit bulls, rotties, dobies, you name it. i have no guns and two cats. but becuase the perception is that someone could be standing at the end of my driveway with a shotgun aimed at them... no one goes down my driveway either , unless they know me. fear of who is holding what at the other end of the driveway is why i don't even have to lock my house up.

kinda handy those gun toters.

wow, i thought the woman chose to kill her son and herself. i had no idea so many people were involved.

c'mon. we are responsible for how we feel and act. thats about all we can control in our lives. the results of irrational thinking is not the fault of others. this is a tragic consequence of how this woman reacted to the cisrcumstances in her life. i am sorry that she didn't get the help she needed either on her own, or with assistance from famiily and friends. however dirty looks and getting flipped off by a stranger ios not what acasues someone to kills themsewlves. neither is not calling back a one nigfhty stand or not talking to a "friend" maybe that person wasn't her friend. am i know responsible for what happens to people who think they are my friend?

that is not rational thinking

Keep proving my point..Name calling over the internet is easy for an unarmed peasant like yourself.
I'm actually from Florida(in Iraq now, don't know wat this "Clarksville TN deal is)...I carry a gun for a living.I also have a CCW & could be standing next to you in public...& you would never know I was carrying.
I have proven that I am morally, ethically,& skillful enough to carry a firearm...If you choose(or can't) to not carry, that's your problem.
No , you carrying a concealed gun is my problem. Posting your ownership of a gun and telling the world how moral and ethical you are is a sure sign of issues. Telling me that you are armed and I wouldnt know it is a problem for the world. If you are going to have a weapon, dont tell everyone! And as far as an unarmed peasant, I am prior military and have carried a gun and a Kbar. I left the weapons with the military where they belong. I joined the Marine Corp to keep my country safe, not bring the violence and attitudes back home, any fool can get a concealed weapons permit, so you should be careful, and by the way some people can spot a concealed weapon, Im pretty good at it, when I do I get away and get my family away from that person.

you say she had mental illness and that they still let her shoot the gun, but take in fact about the laws and privacy about it, shoot straight isnt allowed to see those records and the hospital is not allowed to share them, therefore if shoot straight did background checks they would not show, and shoot straight would have no idea if she had mental problems unless she or any family member had told them. If you bring up the fact that she has been baker acted, that doesnt mean anything to anyone. i can garantee everyone in the world has made a simple unintential comment saying "god i cant take this anymore" or even when your angry at someone you say "im gonna kill 'em" even though you dont mean it or your just haveing a bad day. well take in consideration you could be baker acted just for those simple comments. so lets say you wake up really early for work and one moring and say "darn i cant take this anymore" and someone hears you say that and you get baker acted, now you have a record of it. Should you be banned from owning a gun?? shoot straight holds no liablilty to this fact, although they should tighten up security inside because if you look at the rules your not suppost to have loaded guns with you unless ur in the shooting lane, and your not suppost to load a gun anywhere there unless your up at the firing lane. so someone that worked there should have been watching to see there customers and what they were doing to stop her from it. i believe it could have been provented. and i can garantee that shoot straight and other probably other ones are going to change thier ways of operation.
