Typical politician, They will write the rules, but don't ask them to play by them. They all feel somehow they are the elite, and above having to obey the laws they help to enforce. This guy should be forced to go. And if he is re-elected, shame on the voters.

this would be a federal beef, nothing to do with local politics. you have the same option if you want to risk the consequences

I wonder how he would feel when his gov't pension, insurance and check are late?
When are gov't employees going to receive the pensions, insurance and pay that we receive?
|
|
Oh no

Why isn't his property tax bill payed through his mortgage escrow like most everyone else has it done?
Is his house already payed for so he doesn't have a mortgage?

I believe both his trailer homes are paid for.
He was able to spend a few thousands sending out political propaganda in the mail, but he couldnt pay years of taxes. It's all about morals and ethics, none which he has.
Strip clubs are massaging his pockets, he should have asked them for a larger amount to allocate towards his tax fund. He has already voted to increase citizens taxes with fire fees (which the commission later voted down by majority) but he won't pay his own.

Ethics reform for Casselberry. If an elected official doesn't pay his property taxes on time he automatically is out of public office. This proposal doesn't make any sense but will make the editorial staff feel better.

Bob's neighbors in his mobile home community are able to come up with the money to pay their taxes on time. I wonder if he pays all his bills late.
Hmmm... makes you wonder....
If he paid all his bill on time, like most of us do, he could avoid lots of late fees. Those late fees add up. He could use that saved money to pay his taxes!
Obviously he did not sit in on any of the economics classes taught at Lyman High School while he was there as a "teacher" - I use that term loosly in his case.

Typical for Casselberry government. I got a ltter last year asking me for my signature to agree to Deer Run to be annexed into the city of Casselberry, to agree to pay an unspecified amount legal fees to document my home ownership at an unspecified date. When I called the "contact person" for this absurd request I was told it was a "mistake".
You think? Who in their right mind is going to agree to pay an unspecified amount on an unspecified date to get the same services I have now?
WHAT a bunch of small time crooks/idiots. I won't even start about the Casselberry cops.

The embarrassing fact is simple what you see, is what you get, what we've got, ain't gettin it! Mr. Goof, you are an embarrassment to the City, the Commission, the Cities employees and its citizens. If you had any sense of self responsibility as a citizen, a professional, as a leader, you would immediately resign, and look elsewhere for employment. How you will be able to look anyone in the eyes much less consider yourself able to lead anyone is beyond my comprehension. Save yourself and the community the ludicrous supposition that you are re-electable.

resign now, right now, at this very time. If he will not go, then he must be asked to step down, yes it is that important. Those who set the property tax cannot play games with paying what they owe! It is an outrage!

I was thinking that-----it is about all the damage goff is doing to himself by playing and explaning many new reasons why he does this----what is it no cash? no job? poor family? no more support from people? It is all a bunch of crap from a two bit operator--- play games with sports not peolpe's lives. No wonder casselberry is where it is because of these type of people the voters of this place elect----please please elect people we can respect.

This would not have been such a big deal if Mr Goff had not given the Sentinel such fodder for their newspaper in the past... and that's the true issue - people are tired of the embarassment he causes. I'm no fan of his, however, there are several issues here. 1 - Not everyone has a mortgage so they don't have an escrow. That means they have to budget on their own, so they can pay the tax on time. 2 - At tax time, Goff is saying that if a buyer of a tax certificate will pay is tax in trade for a 5% (hypothetical) return, then he can choose to pay let that happen. It can be profitable IF he can get more than that 5% by investing the money in something else, pocketing the difference. 3 - Most people can understand someone falling on bad times... BUT this might not have happened if he was a great investor. Now he's playing wtih the Buget. Let's just get to election time without any more drama, then speak your piece with your votes.

There's many positive things that have been pushed forward by the other commissioners, including the new town center, lake quality improvements, park improvements, landscape improvements...new stores opening up, new restaurants looking to set up shop there...good schools, friendly neighborhoods...
And really, Goff is just part of the old-guard dinosaurs that will simply be voted out of office in the next couple of months, and he will go down as the strip clubs have...
As citizens, they will continue to improve the city and move things forward to do so more rapidly as a commission than having someone so controversial running it...
