The woman was barred this shooting range because she was considered unstable and dangerous. Someone has a lot of explaining to do.

I wonder why this event didn't make some headline news? does it has to be more than one dead?

Psychiatric health care in this country is a joke.
Those who need help the most are not getting the treatment they need.

Tell me how a woman so deranged is allowed to even walk the streets? All the times shed been hospitalized you'd think doctors, family, or someone would realize she was a danger to society as well as herself. Sounds to me like she was on the wrong drug...

This kind of flies in the face of the logic that if folks inside a building was packing heat, some idiot wouldn't try to come in and shoot others.

This woman shot someone inside of a building where EVERYONE is packing.

No one shot her back in response?.

Nop, if you saw the pictures the man that was in the booth next to them just screamed for help, instead of defending himself, he was so stupid, imagine if the crazy woman shoots him next?

Too bad someone could not have intervened. Even if they could have permanently disabled the woman but kept her alive to be dealt with daily as punishment for what she did to her son.

I wonder if there shouldn't be daily teaching in schools to the effect that suicide alone is better than murder. Maybe program society to where if anyone feels any aggression towards another that the thought of suicide will be so overwhelming they cannot harm others.

They did not perceive a personal threat. Most people will not intervene in a domestic dispute. It was not like she was screaming "Allah Ahkbar!" and shooting at random. Since it was a place where guns were expected, nobody thought twice. Now if you were in Walmart, a school, or theater, and you saw guns drawn, you would react differently than seeing guns drawn at a shooting range. This was premeditated with targetted victims, not a spree killing.

Wow this is truly tragic.

So who choose the pictures for this article?

The pic of the kid and the girlfriend was cute, but and odd choice in my opinion, and THEN they go and put a solo picture of the girlfriend in a bikini??

WTF?

No one had to shoot her. Read the article. After she shot her son she immediatly turned the gun on herself. I am sure the video can be found on the Internet. The Orlando Sentinel posted the whole video. She planned to shoot her son and herself -- not everyone else.

First of all, they have earphones on to protect their ears, and even if they didn't, is that guy supposed to tell the difference between the mother's gun going off next to him from the other guns going off right next to him? I mean seriously, you can see from the stills of the security camera that he didn't even turn around/notice until the shooter was down too. Maybe he was calling for MEDICAL help...
