I see trouble brewing over this. Let's just hope it's not a precedent. We need gun ranges so law-abiding folks can learn to hit their targets.

Ah...a perfect world. And they would only take themselves out not family members, you know? At least this one only shot himself/herself.

Seems like two people hit their targets just fine. They happened to be themselves and innocent victim.

We need more gun play anywhere we can find it. That's a plan!

People don't kill people!

People with guns kill people!

This is what happens after listening to conservative talk radio. Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity have got people all freaked out and thinking the end of the world is here.

Maybe another frivolous lawsuit for the Morgan firm. This guy and the other two victims could have just as easily driven their cars into oncoming traffic or a concrete support on the highway. If that had happened then there maybe could have been a lawsuit against the manufacturer or seller of the auomobile.
And people buy cars to hit something?

I think its time to shut down this range. Hopefully it doesnt take a third strike for them to learn a lesson. Im sure that all the NRA members and gun-supporters out there are happy to hear this news.

Man, talk about lightening striking twice. I really don't know much about guns, but can't they use rubber bullets or something in those guns?

And the "lesson" would be.... what???? Don't allow guns at the shooting range?
What a dork.

a rubber bullet isnt gonna make a difference when you put a gun right up to your head.

maybe this guy saw that this store was already under scrutiny and so he decided to go the same place, maybe get a nice cash settlement for the family if there is this idea of a recurring theme of problems at this store. i know it's just speculation at this point but it makes sense to me.

it's unfortunate for the store though. you cant blame them. if a person wants to kill themself, they'll find a way. it will be interesting to see if this was also done with a rented gun as well or if there was any possible connection between the people in the 2 shootings. if it was done with a rented gun the store may want to consider suspending gun rentals for the time being, that way they have no liability for renting a gun for a person that may turn out to be mentally unstable.

I don't see why he would go to a range to shoot himself. Unless he rented the gun. I don't believe that they should rent guns to ANYONE! I am a responsible gun OWNER, who had to undergo a background check and a waiting period to acquire my pistol. EVERYONE should have to do the same in order to use a pistol. If he did not rent this gun then it sounds like a STUPID accident.

I disagree. Shoot Straight is trying to run a respectable business. They can't help the fact that crazy people are choosing their location to kill themselves. There are a myriad of methods of committing suicide and locations to do it. Should San Francisco close down the Golden Gate Bridge because people like to jump from it?

"but the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, which runs the background search, will not allow it" says the article about Shoot Straight trying to implement background checks.

Sounds like the FDLE is culpable and needs to be shut down or sued! Maybe they could mitigate their culpability by running a gun range with free loaners for all crazies!
