This is the way our stand your ground law works. The police were wrong you do not have to walk or run away you have the right to defend yoursleft.

The mere fact that he had time to "walk away to his truck" and retrieve a gun means he had time to drive away. The guy he killed was probably some scumbag anyway, but defending yourself generally doesn't involve the time to walk away and come back with a gun.

So what happens now to the convicted people under the old 'run away' law? The 'stand your ground/Castle Domaine Law took affect in 2005. I personally was convicted of not retreating from my own house and defending myself. I am currently on probation for another 5 years.

i knew gary personally and what i can say is this must have been a very highly charged aurgument because ordinarily an actual fistfight would not have been in his nature(garys). i can also tell you that this Robert Pinos was posting on facebook and myspace and he was bragging that he killed gary. this was all over drugs and alot of people should be ashamed of thierselves. in this case they were both wrong and to justify any of this is a travesty and you must be this pinos friends or very young to think things are all cut and dry like that. there is a difference between protection and murder.
