When I got married back in '85, my husband had the experience of planning events at the winery where he worked, so he had all the contacts and made most of the arrangements. I got the female judge to preside, and got my sister a dress to stand up with us in, she didn't own any. We got married in front of the castle/winery, had a small luncheon with the wedding guests(about 30 people there in the winery.... and then a big blow-out party at the local Farmer's Grange with a great band and dancing into the night. His mom brought cookies from New York, one of my co-workers made the cake, and the big party was a potluck so we had a ham and a turkey and a pilot friend from Alaska grilling moose burgers out in the parking lot. For 10 years people told us that was the best party they'd ever been to. And the local office cleaning company, owned by a friend, offered to clean up after the party, so we just got to leave when we were ready; there are lots of advantages to living in small town in the Napa Valley! It was a good gesture to start off the marriage - sharing the work as well as the fun of the party.

This is the liberal media's way of trying to influence normal guys to be more metrosexual. Straight guys don't interfere in wedding plans unless they're closet queens or controlling freaks. dude, i am so impressed that you know what i, as a liberal, think! given your omniscience, it's probably superfluous to write this, but scroo yoo.

Sounds like you and Bethany have worked it all out and if it works for you-that is what really matters. Good luck with your wedding and God Bless you in your marriage!!!!

I'd love to hear the photographer's side of the story- what did he do to reduce her to tears? I can't think of any instance where that is necessary. If you are not getting what you want, walk away and go somewhere else. This guy gets his jollies out of controlling and hurting people, and someone wants to spend a lifetime with him? She'd better find a good divorce lawyer now, if he lets her use a phone to call one. After the marriage, I hope she doesn't want to pick out her own clothes, choose her own hair style, choose her own friends...
The funny thing is women do this all the time and they make a television show on it...the guy does it and he's an abusive husband...go figure.
