The wedding is the bride's day. The groom rents the tux and shows up. Most guys don't give a rip about the ceremony, the flowers, the cake, or anything else that goes on at a wedding.
Women love wedding planning and any guy who gets involved is either controlling or wishing he was "bride".
These idiots need to let the bride and her mother plan what has always been their lifelong dream....without some jackass giving input.

I helped plan my wedding and expected perfection, however I hardly believe I was any sort of "zilla". Maybe an eccentric, controlling, detail-oriented planner...yeah. I made spreadsheets for each person in our wedding party who traveled here from out of state as to how much time they had before and after our wedding events and dinners to get ready, to travel, to eat, etc. I figured they'd have no reason to be late, like "duh, gee Tennessee, I didn't know traffic would be bad in Orlando at this hour on this street!!" So, I planned all the time out for them...bow down!

What a first class, loser and control whackjob. Gee, dopey, the guests are adults and they can figure it out.
Weddings are for the bride, not some metrosexual who has fantasies of being the bride.

Exactly, this check needs to get her head examined. He is a bully and we can only imagine what her future will be like with him.

This gay, transgendered, retarded midget could, and would be glad to write something across your loser, metrosexual forehead....and there wouldn't be a thing you could do about it...except tell your Mommy.
It's not my fault you're a bride wannabee. I didn't brag about planning a weddding...you did.
I bet you get off on HGTV and have a fantasy about opening your own interior design shop, sissyboy.

Isn't Chris a girl's name? Or is it one of those "crossover" names?

If he likes doing the planning let him do it. The end product is the marriage not the wedding. We need to let people do what is right for them. Be it a stay at home Dad or a groomzilla.

But - I agree with the poster that thinks bride or groom zillas need to get over themselves. Just because it can be stressful is no reason for someone to become a raging maniac or an entitled prince or princess.

I was castigated in 2001 when I wanted to participate in planning my wedding, knowing full well it was the "bride's day" but certainly not all about the bride. Nice to see I was just a little ahead of my time, and thankfully, most of the stuff that I was involved in ended up working out perfectly, unlike some of the other stuff!
I guess you didn't participate in the wedding night either, since you had been castigated. LOL

well what did you expect from today's male 'metrosexuals'?if evolution is true pretty soon men will not need their testicles anymore. generation x, generation y already primp and fawn all over themselves like no other generation. i got a feeling this recession might knock some sense into a few of them.

Poor Taxpayer asks "Whaat kind of man gets into planning a ****** wedding???

A very controlling one. My daughter's wedding was totally controlled by the groomzilla aided by the maid-of-honorzilla. Together they conspired to not invite me to the shower, ruin the wedding dress shopping, and the topper was at the reception they sat me at the last table in the corner, not at the usual brides family table. Of course, he and his family were seated properly as were the maid-of-honorzilla's family who took great pride in insulting the bride's sister. This bride is in for one miserable marriage and there is nothing I can do about it which makes it really sad.

Weddings are for the birds. Your wedding day is not the most important day of your life. When you are divorced, which is statistically probable, you will kick yourself in the head for investing so much time, money and emotion for something that was doomed. The very character traits that make one so consumed with the perfect wedding are the traits that ultimately doom many marriages. Get over yourselves. By the way, my wife and I have been married nearly 15 years and our ceremony was held in the judge's chambers at the courthouse with a few family and friends. And, oh yeah, these guys are gay. I mean they are seriously closeted homosexuals. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

And we wonder why men lately are viewed upon as the biggest wuss generation of all time. Ask yourself this question: Would our fathers and grandfathers do something like this? No, because they acted like real men. The opened doors for ladies, they worked their asses off for their families, and they whipped an occasional kids ass when they got out of line. Wedding planning? That's what the woman does.

I am amazed that people can read an article, and then make such judgements of someone. If I understand correctly people, this is tied into a contest for potential ( Groomzilla's ) to win a paid honeymoon or other prizes. Based on the cost of weddings not a bad deal. Given the opportunity to win a payout I could become the biggest GROOMZILLA in the world. Get real people and stop wasting your time with your couch analysis of someone.

I have found that people that are so fast to find fault in others are generally identifying their own issues.

To all brides and grooms- Best Wishes for a fun wedding and a happy, long and lasting marriage.

Everyday Joe,
We would like to Thank You. We are probably the happiest couple ever. We have a loving family and are very eager to cement it in stone via the bond of marriage. All of the passed judgement made by ignorant people in our society have actually been a discouragement to us. You are correct. We did this as part of a contest. If an 'arrogant attitude' will win us a free Honeymoon, then we're happy to provide that. Half of this was us entering a contest. The rest was elaboration added by two separate entities. Witness our happiness at www.mywedding.com/davidnbethany . Yes, I own two event management businesses, so planning a $50,000 party for our friends and family is second nature for me. For those of you who don't like my 'thug-like appearance' or 'criminal' past or 'wife-beating' demeanor, you obviously don't know us. There are three of us in our little family. We're hoping to make it four. We are the happiest, most loving family you will ever meet. If you don't like tattoos, then don't look at us. But exercise what little intelligence you may possess, and quit passing judgement on a couple photos and a trumped up story. Thanks again, Joe. We hope that you are half as happy as we are.

The problem is, so many couples spend so much time, money, and energy on wedding planning and never plan and prepare for marriage. Now wonder that the most lavish weddings I have been invited for have been for couples who divorced or separated in a few years.

I think that it is great as to how involved David is in his wedding preparations. "Groomzillia" or not, he is very involved and that more than I can say for some married men. I hope that my fiance will be at least half involved as David. Yes, the wedding is only a start and most marriages do end in divorce but they do seem very happy and I have visited their wedding website. People let them be, I hope that David and Bethany win the "Groomzilla" contest and have the best honeymoon and a lifetime of more happiness. Best of Luck and Disregard every negative comment!

This is the liberal media's way of trying to influence normal guys to be more metrosexual. Straight guys don't interfere in wedding plans unless they're closet queens or controlling freaks. A guy who wants to control the biggest event in his fiance's life will want to control everything else about her. Of course, some people like to be controlled.
