I am having a huge problem with Fifth Third bank. I found out I have been affected by old paid mortgages showing up on my credit report. I never got a letter from them. I went to apply for a refi and was turned down. My score dropped by at least 100 points. I have been trying to get an answer for 3 weeks, they just shuffle me from on person to another. I want to see if we have a law suit. Anybody with same problem please respond.I agree. I smell a big class-action lawsuit here. This looks like a third world country bank.

We have been ripped off by Fifth Third Bank to the tune of about $30,000. for a loan that was paid off. And now they are trying to collect another $56,000. for the same loan that was paid off. Our credit is ruined by them. We need to ban together as Americans and bring a Class Action Suit against them. Any body got the gutts?????

Rosemary, you need to go to the county's clerk office and see what loan is registered with them. The bank forged my name of a loan modification, which I knew nothing about. The dumb criminals at this bank did not spell my first name correctly. The doc with my signature, had an incorrect bank logo, 5/3 did not buy out Old Kent Bank, yet had 5/3 logo. The bank needs to register your loan with the county. Mine was not registered because it was only produce to show all my payments were accounted for.
The policy of the bank is to scan all their home mortgage payments. Their policy is to release them with a written request and you know... a fee of $5.00. Go to your local townhall & see who is on the tax bill. This bank wil service your loan out with informing you. Go to your home insurance comp and see who they sent the bill to and who paid the bill.
The bank will act as if they are working with you to correct their mistakes. This is all a LIE. It is to get you past the 6 months after they sold your home. All they are doing is buying time to get you evicted. They will also, have someone call from 5/3 and say they are putting together options and investigating this loan. When I went to court for eviction the bank denied someone from their bank even called me. Lied about my repurchase agreement-No contract was signed.
DO NOT TRUST THIS BANK AT ALL!!! Get Legal Help from HUD or with the Federal Reserve for consumers, which is what Federal Trade Comm. is for other banks. Fed Reserve over sees 5/3 Bank, not the Federal Trade Comm. Contact your state Attorney General Office & submit a formal compliant. With all these agencies I have listed always submit formal compliants ASAP. If you can afford your own private attorney retain one. This bank needs to be taken down.
I am a homeless single mother of two children. All because this bank cares only for making money. They state one lie after another. My goal in life is to help out as many people as I can with what I know about how the bank evicted me. THIS bank charged me $8,000.00 in late fees for an appartent "missing payment 6 years ago". On your loan contract is listed to how the bank can apply your loan payment. Have this checked out as well.
GET A COMPLETE HISTORY OF LOAN PAYMENTS ASAP.
An amortization schedule should be requested as well. Get a complete copy of your entire file with court orders. Please time is the most important thing you have. That is why the bank is giving you a run around. Do not let the house get to auction. File a compliant with the AG's office to stop it. Once it is sold at auction it is impossible to try and stop them from going all the way.
I had my home almost paid off. The value of my home was roughly $230,000.00. The bank pulled out all my equity I had in there.
Also, notify your state rep and state senator. Tell them what you think will happen in your state. Ohio state put stricter loans in place because of these PIGS at 5/3 Bank!!!
Best of luck to you!!!!

5/3 SUCKS!!!! they do take money out of your account even when you have not overdrawn!!!!!!!!! then won't give you your money back. I made a withdrawl from the teller for $260. It did not give me my money and still took the $260 out of my account. The branch manager was a JERK!!!!!!! Please listen to me, GET OUT before you're the next victim. And all you people on here saying bad things about these other people complaining, SHUT YOUR MOUTH, you haven't be victimized yet.

I am currently dealing with an issue with 5th Third. They have been taking $50/per month out of one of my business accounts. I just recently noticed it (after around 10 months of deductions). This is a business savings account, therefore due to lack of activity, I had not reviewed this account until recent. The bank has been giving me the run around. They owe me in total fees A little over $600 and are acting as if they will not credit me back the money they deducted in fees. They keep claiming that I signed a document with the bank representative changing my account over to a different checking account AND set up a wire transfer out of this account which I did not. I used to stand up for 5th Third Bank, however I would recommend everyone to not use this banking institution. I feel they are in the business of making money off "fees". I am closing both my business accounts with 5th Third as soon as this problem is resolved.(If it ever gets resolved.

I would back a class action against Fifth/Third in a heart beat.I delt with them for 6 years with no problems, then all of a sudden I was being slammed with overdraft fees weekly!! I finally figured out that they were not crediting my account with my payroll deposits for 7 days!! These deposits were direct deposits from my job they should have as in the past been posted and made available immediatly the day of the deposit!! I was informed that it was their new policy!! I was never informed of the, "new poicy" or I would have cancelled my account when informed. When we did try to cancell the account, they said we would have to keep it open for at least 2 weeks, because if we had a request from the closed account(such as automatic drafts we forgot to cancell before closing the account)then they would take it upon themselves to re-open the account, pay the request, then charge us the money they paid out, in addition to huge fees because they did it, "for us"!! What kind of crap is that? Now everytime my husband and I see where a Fifth/Third Bank was robbed, we just laugh and say the robber was probably just holding them up to get their own money from the bank lol.
