Marie Moore: Vigil will remember Marie Moore and her son

A vigil for the two people who died at gun range in Casselberry will be held tonight at 7:30 p.m., according to WESH.com. Marie Moore, 44, and her son Mitchell Moore, 20, both died at the range earlier this week when the woman killed her son then turned the gun on herself. Full Story

Orlando Sentinel, stop sensationalizing this tragic story. You don't need to show the video footage, print the mentally ill woman's letters, etc. This is a very private matter and your blasting it out there like that. Your paper and writers, editors have no shame or morals.

My sympathies to the families involved. Unfortunately the Sentinel has taken away your right to mourn in private.

Why are they having this memorial at Shoot Straight? Why don't they go home, or to church, or to his school? This is a pathetic attempt to refocus and deflect responsiblity onto the hapless owners of the range. What a shame, using the dead for your own purposes.

Could WESH or the Slantinel print any less information about this? I suspect this "vigil" was set up by the ambulance chasing lawyer helping the family with the lawsuit against Shoot Straight.

Why do the woman's actions warrant a vigil in her honor? The son, yes. Her, no.

I hope this comment will not be taken out of context. i know there are many faith denominations out there and i respect them all. it would be better that this vigil be held maybe on saturday or sunday, as being catholic, i have mass these next few days, and would like to make the vigil, but have responsibilities at church. it is important regardless of faith to help those in need. this family needs our prayers.

She was a paranoid schizophrenic -has nothing to do with religion.

once again religion leads to murder. that's what happens when you throw out reason and follow the path of faith. praise the god!

Then perhaps you didnt read all the articles, she was quoted as saying..in her notes of course..that she "had to kill her son to save him, and for god." That sounds like crazy and religion all rolled up into one.

Baloney, this has everything to do with religion. The bible is one of the most dangerous books in the world, and if this person was mentally ill, she should not have had access to such garbage.

This woman thought she was sending her son to heaven. I wonder where she came up with THAT idea?

Yep, and her poor son had to suffer for it. This woman's family knew of her condition and chose to ignore it.

I hope I get picked to sit on the jury. Because I hope Shoot Straight countersues the family for not doing ANYTHING about that woman. Allowing that sicko to be out & about.

If it's anybody's fault that kid (her son) is dead, it's HERS and every one who looked the other way who knew her.

Ick.
A vigil for a crazy person who murdered her son and her self and a son that was too dumb to not turn his back on his insane mother, even when she took a gun from him, and, no doubt had been a wackaloon for sometime. 2 losers. A vigil for 2 losers.
And what kind of losers go to a vigil for total strangers, much less a vigil for losers? Scum that want to be seen. Scum that crave that media attention. They want to feel good pretending to care about 2 losers they've never met and wouldn't lift a pinkie for in life, but in death, sure, use them to look good for any camera available. And if there's no cameras, they'll bring their own.

No more whacked-out than you are. Does your life revolve around anything else except making stupid comments on every single story the Sentinel publishes. Get off your behind and take a walk.

Felt bad for the family until I learned they are going to sue the gun shop owners for the deaths.
Now I think the family is nothing but a group of money hungry trailer trash.
The person at fault here is the mother, sick or not she is the killer so live with family members. Your mother is a sorry a s s person who kills.
Would love to see the gun show owners sue the mother's estate if the family attempts to sue them. After all the actions of the mother cost the gun shop (had to close for the investigation and had to pay to get the bloody mess cleaned up. Sound like another Anthony family here.

What is it these days with all of these vigils being held for just about any reason?? Perhaps someone will get a brainstorm and open a 'VIGILS 'R US" franchise.
