This Wyoming law needs CHANGED

So, all you parents out there, tell me how this sits with you. Your 9 year old girl is molested by a man ... a 40 year old man, FORTY years old. He molests her, but there is no "penetration", just forced fondling and him forcing her to do things in "bad places" causing damage to her pysche.

This moronic waste of space only goes to prison for 2 years and is released back into Casper society in January of this year from Rawlins. Now he's trolling at Dean Morgan Junior high, because "he has a right to be there...his girlfriends kid goes there and he's *just picking the kid up from school*". Forget he has an injunction to stay away from our kid and she goes there...he's well within his rights, despite being a sex offender of children.

Yet WHY is he allowed at schools? Allowed around other girls and boys? Well our lovely District Attorney said it's perfectly fine for him to be there...that's why! As a matter of fact, this sexual predator who molests little girls is NOT..I repeat NOT on the Wyoming Sex Offender list at ALL.

Why is this you might ask? Well, our VOTED IN OFFICIAL...the District Attorney decided he didn't NEED TO BE ON THE LIST. It was, Quotes the lady in the DA's office, "the District Attorney has the choice to put people on the sexual offender list and it was *ONLY* 4th degree sexual assault."

Makes all you Mothers want to go out and give the DA a big hug doesn't it? It was ONLY 4th degree sexual assault on MY little girl..no big deal...he's only a 40 year old man, he shouldn't be put on the Sex Offender List, it's not like he did anything THAT bad.-just gapes-

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH OUR DISTRICT ATTORNEY IN CASPER WYOMING? Although apparently this sort of backwards thinking is also going on in Cheyenne. The law needs to be changed and changed quickly. ALL SEX offenders need to be put on that list and quickly. This should NOT be left up to politicans to decide...EVER.

I would not want this fool to touch another person's child and he is wandering around unscathed by his prison record while just seeing him in the parking lot sends my daughter into a sort of trauma that she shouldn't have to deal with. Again, WHAT THE HELL IS THE DA thinking?

Do you, ANY of you...want this sort of predator walking free in your neighborhood just because his sex crime against a child wasn't "bad" enough to warrant him being on a list? It could be YOUR child that he hones his skills up on and goes for broke to get up to 1st degree.

Sleep better tonight knowing that the DA is more worried about his political agenda than he is our children and their well being.

Having read some other posts here, I thought I would note for the inquiring minds :) I am in CA right now although I am a born and raised Casper-ite and my family is still there and some are in Cheyenne.

I am just here temporarily caring for a 98 year old family member that I didn't feel should be alone at the end of her life.

Trust me when I say..I am mad as hell about the Wyoming Laws and the damage done to my daughter, along with the damage STILL being done to her due to the DA and his idiocy. I will still be working on petitions, garnering signatures and doing my part to stop him from harming anymore kids even while I am here. The internet is a beautiful thing.

Hope that clears up the fact that my location doesn't list me in Wyo :P

what bout murder, what about kidnapper, what bout everything they did they need to be on the list not just sex offender my husband didn't do anything to that girl she lie about her age she said she is 17 turning 18 and my husband was 20 years old she come to him for sex and she turn him in for notthing. he didn't even go after that girl. The girl did. But my problem is that you didn't get my husband friend in trouble for having sex with her the guy are same age as my husband but she turned around and turn my husband in but not his friend

It is a sick world that says that a man or woman can touch a child sexually and it not be a serious matter. People in Bible times were stoned to death for things like this. Sex offenders can't be changed. They can only be kept away from our children so that they are not tempted to do it again.
I feel for your daughter because I was done the same as a six yr old by an older cousin. I'll never get rid of the image and memory in my head. A matter of fact if you go to the police dept. here or the rec center you can see the book for the sex offenders and it grows thicker in size each month, because new ones are moving here from other states. The last time I looked throught the book it was at least three inches thick. Now it is probably four. I recommend looking through this book before you let your children play with school mates or neighbor children. You never know their parents or grandfather maybe in this book.

I totally agree with this post. My ex husband's father molested his OWN daughter when she was like 8 or 10 I think. It disgusts me to think of someone who is a stranger doing that to children, but your own FATHER!!! I now have a 21 month old son from my ex and in our divorce papers it says that my son is not allowed to spend time with my ex father-in-law alone. I have to be present to during all visits. I would sign the petition if you sent it to me.

I lived in Mills for a couple of years when i was 4-6, and my best friends grandfather did this to me. I never told. Until today. He owned a shop that made jewelry out of rocks 2 blocks from the elementary school, near the tracks. I'm going through therapy with my hubby now, and plan on telling my folks this weekend. He also abused my sister and brother, when he was in diapers. My sister refuses to deal with it. But for me, its time. I am 34 now, and angry! Now wait a minute, I was under the impression that it is a federal law that states that a convicted child molester can not go go near any school. Is that not the law?

Another thing, all sex offenders, especially that who prey on children should be executed. It is an un-curable sickness and is not dealt with to a high enough degree of seriousness. As a father of two children, I would send the person responsible for hurting my children to hell where they belong.

To: Mad Mom- I think the DA is nuts! Who is this DA? BTW- Did you know that sex offenders can register and then change their names? So if someone looked up their name, it wouldn't be on the list. Does anyone know if there is a penalty for not registering all your aliases if you are a child molester?

The reason I asked the name of the DA is because he may be a sex offender or have a friend who is one. Don't be shocked. There are doctors, lawyers, judges and other "respectable" citizens who are sex offenders. I should know; I have personally known some....and they really know how to work the system. They don't always lose their jobs and most people would never think to look them up on an offender site.

Well, not only does this happen in Casper and Cheyenne, but in Sheridan you can't even get the police to believe what has happened. This same thing happened to my 7 year old granddaugher and when we called the police the investigation was delayed for 30 days and then they found "no substantiation". What a crock. This man has been victimizing his female family members for years and the police and family services know it. Meanwhile my beautiful granddaughter has to attend counseling weekly to get over the trauma. The man who molested her was her uncle and her father was the one who allowed it. Now the court says she must have visitation with her father. The whole system seems corrupt to me. Where are the childs rights in the State of Wyoming? The governer says Wyoming has some of the toughest child protection laws in the nation. Don't believe that. If they do why don't they enforce them. Meanwhile you better keep a close watch on your young children in Sheridan. We have about 50 registerd sex offenders so who knows how many are not registered.....

i know a person who molested little childeren and was put on probation for a few yrs and spent some time at cac. he was caught read handed doing it and admitted it. he basically got nothing.
now if a person is caught with child porn pics or images its a minimum of 5 yrs per image.
so whts wrong with this system?
get more time for child porn images than actually doing the act.
