Spoken like a true Wyomingite - NOT!, John A Kinney ... as long as it's not in your back yard ... yet!
The problem with these wind farms, is that they also want to grab a two-mile wide swath of land from here to Boise, Idaho. Oh, wait a minute ... they only want 160 feet, right? Then why the 2 mile wide swath of land? Perhaps to enlarge upon, once they have their thousands of wind mills interferring with EVERYONE's vision from one side of the state to the other - your's included, dear John.
Unfortunately, just as with the oil, it won't benefit us here in Wyoming. They plan to transport the energy out of state. We just get to deal with the land grab and the lovely access restrictions. No trespassing. No hunting. No anything. Stay out!! BLM, private or National Forest - you, the public who owns the land will not be allowed upon them.
So perhaps THIS particular set of wind mills isn't going to affect you personally, but I also happen to know that there are plans to build wind mills as far as they eye can see out Mr. Alcova's way also, as well as all over the buttes south and east of Casper.
As usual, we are all asleep at the wheel as they sneak in their 'green' and therefore 'acceptable' eye pollutants and land possessions. Sigh ... these will be even more difficult to fight off than the wolves.

Believe it or not, 2010 is almost round the corner. Start thinking about what you want to achieve next year. If that means admitting defeat in some projects that you tried and failed to launch this year, then so be it.
