I Believe she basically got a slap on the hand just like Richard did. But I think she had to do some prision time instead of just County Jail time.

It just makes me sick and infuriated that our judicial system dealt with that case so badly. One would expect a much greater sentence for cold blooded murder. Sad, so sad.

why do you have to bring up Hill's past? that isn't right, that was in the past and it should stay in the past. Now Ricky is dead and you still have to bring up his past, you should not remind people of what happened and plus that is not what happened, so you should leave that out of the paper.

Why should we not discuss the past?

I gotta believe that those of you who disapprove of our discussions of the deceased must secretly crave the drama, otherwise why would you subject yourself to it? If'n you don't want to see it, don't read it.

Because it was johny's fault he's the one that stabbed the guy ricky may have hit him a couple times but he sure the hell didn't kill him, he's a good guy stop making him out to be a bad guy. he pled guily to commiting bodily harm not murder he didn't do it so stop making his loved one's have to relive that, that chick cassey had more of a part in it then he did she deserved to serve that year she ran the guy over more then once Ricky was way gone before what they did so get it right if he really did it then why would they only give him a year think about it don't be so dumb if they really thought he was a bad guy they would gave him 15 years to life just like johny am I not right?

Wow... now that was a vowel movement... nicely done. Having dispensed with the congratulatory part of this message... I would cheerfully point out that I simply asked why it should not be discussed. I neither passed judgment nor drew any conclusions. Truth be told, I knew none of this drivel until you vomited it forth onto me (thanks for that, by the way).

Now then, are we all back on the same sheet of music here?

Hill's past is not that past but a couple of years? It's not like the crime he pled guilty to was 15 or 20 years ago, but 2-3 years ago. People don't need to be reminded, the crime is still fresh in their minds.

ricky was a good guy, he was somewhere at the wrong time and he paid for it!!! He was doing really good working and taking care of his son, who he loved very much. so enough is enough quit bringing the past up. His family has enough to deal with without people bringing "the past" up

I am so angry that the willits news had to bring that up too.. Ricky was a great kid. he was totally in the wrong place at the wrong time.. I have known Ricky since he was about 10 years old. he was a big part of our family. I also knew Joe fairly well too as he went to school with my son.. It was tragic that whole thing was tragic. Ricky was working really hard for a local business in Willits and he was taking care of his son who he worshiped and I can't believe that
I'll never see his smile again. Your family in Indiana loves you Ricky. We'll miss you.

The "past" was 18 months ago! get real, its going to come up whether you like it or not. His "past" is too fresh, too close to now. sorry, but it just is. How much good did he do to make up for it? He took a plea deal, which means he pled guilty to a lesser charge. Battery with bodily harm was not the original charge. Accessory to murder is probably what he was originally charged with. He got out of that too easy.

Ok you have made me come to saying this with all this crap about what a good guy he was. What about the KID that was killed by the hands of these 3 people? What about what HIS family and friends went through? Yeah maybe he was at the wrong place at the wrong time but HE MADE THAT CHOICE! Just like he made the CHOICE to be in a car with someone that had been drinking! Maybe if he had made smarter CHOICES they would both be here today?

I Do feel sorry for the child that will never see his daddy again, and I also feel sorry for ALL of the family and friends that these 2 tragic events effected! but the truth is still the truth and no matter how hard you want to you can't change it.

Well said Food For Thought. I have to comment on the "past" remark. For the mother of the murdered young man, there is only the present, daily pain of living with the knowledge that her son was brutally murdered. I also must mention that not ONE of those three present at the murder called 911 to get help for Joe.

If you have something to say about Ricky have the balls to put your real name. if your gonna bring up the past, know the facts!! Ricky was there prior to the kid being killed. the man responsible for the murder is in prison. the woman behind it all is free.. Ricky is dead. He paid the ultimate price..leave the past out of it. do you want someone bringing up all the bad stuff you did in your life when you pass? i think not..he was a good hearted KID. working hard to raise his son and straiten his life out
