I dont hate cops i just dont see eye to eye with any of them
i just dont understand how they can do things that would normally get people fired from there jobs? I dont understand how cops sit in parking lots doing nothing? I dont understand how cops imtimate people into defending things they didnt do? I dont understand why cops go 15mph faster then 10mph over the speed limit? I dont understand how cop beatings happen often but not enough to catch anyones eye. I dont understand anything so please any cops out there fill me in on a Talk basis not a I got a badge so i "THINK" im better then you. |

Most are good honest hard working people. A few are not though. No system is perfect, but I do think society is far better off with them in it.

I dont know you but im willing to admit i dont see eye to eye with what you said.
I see more things that arnt honest then i do honest. I admit no system is perfect but they act like this system is. I dont believe they are honest anymore after they recieved that badge i think the power became to much for most of them to bare. Im only 17 and i know how they act toward kids. They have a snotty attitude and accuse us of stuff that happened that night and they try to force these things into our heads and try to force us into defending them even though we didn't do them. id say to you walk outside go look at some of the cops id say 5% of the force is good but i have never met one |

At 17 I understand where you are coming from. Double your age and you will understand how the rest of us think. When I was a kid, I got a speeding ticket the day after my 16th birthday and not long after that was in town and a small town cop accused me and a friend of stealing pumpkins from a store. Luckily I got off but it started me to dislike the police. It was not until my late 20's when a local police officer came into where I work and started to talk to me when I was working on his father in laws new Cadillac. We became friends and I went to his house and he would stop by mine. I met some others and realized I was on the wrong side before. Thanks Ken F for showing me that there are some great men and women behind that uniform. |

"Police brutality-- is the intentional use of excessive force, usually physical, but potentially also in the form verbal attacks and psychological intimidation, by a police officer, prison officer or other law enforcement officer. It may be carried out at the initiative of an individual officer, or in response to orders given to the officer, or in response to governmental or administrative policies."
You dont understand were i am coming from. The Police System is fucked. If it wasn't explain why i have 17 videos of Police brutality all around the united states. And i know of 3 attacks and some are very personal. I understand that the people you know are good officers but i thought ALL cops are supposed to be good not just some? In normal society when you begin to show anger people start to say "well you have a attitude" but when a officer gets one its ok? Like you said before "No system is perfect" So how would you fix it? Like a real system and erases everything and restart? Or fix the problems and make sure they are actually delt with? |

Well I guess I could share another story with you. I had a run in with a couple of officers a while back and got charged with something. I ended up getting an attorney and getting the charge dismissed due to their mistakes. They lied to me and entered my house, found a bag of weed and charged me. This was all brought on by an anonomous tip. Yes some lie and will bend the rules a bit, but they have their ways and we have ours. I have since changed my ways and life has become a lot better and a lot clearer I might add. Age has a lot to do with it and I will agree they do target younger people. As far as the videos go, yes they are out there. Keep this in mind, you said 20 videos? Think how many thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands wear the uniform? Every city has a few bad eggs that get all the headlines. Don't let those few things cloud your judgement. Most of the time they are punished or lose their jobs. |

"getting an attorney and getting the charge dismissed due to their mistakes"
Does that make it right? I dont understand if i were to make a mistake it would be used against me till i was not able to pay any more money to the Bank Pig F.Y.I They actually cant enter your house unless you let them in and/or they have a warrent. Ya i bet age does have a big impact factor in it but i dont think that is the case in the position i am coming from. I understand they have few bad eggs like you said. But when it takes one person to change somthing for the worse. Why is my 17 to small to change anything for the better There may be thousands but in a system that is supposed to protect us there shouldn't be any mistakes, Do you get what i mean by that? Very few actually make headlines. Only when they are caught on video and if it used in court and they have no excuses to defend themself. The police officer involved is usally suspended with paid leave and is let back on the force later quietly, unless it is to dramatic and then they are stripped of the badge.(I Hope) I know as i grow my views may become different but i know my judgement isn't clouded but I understand your point. |

No they did not have a warrant and that was one of the major reasons that case got dismissed. Sadly my attorney charged me 2600 dollars, but that was half what others were asking. Money is how the system works I guess. |

Every case is different. Attorneys charge between 200-500 an hour as a general rule. The better they are the more you pay. Sad but true! |

I used to live in Monument. I once gave the police chief some jewelry because I suspected it might be stolen. Two days later, he informed me that it WAS stolen.....and later that month, I saw his wife wearing the jewelry!! I trusted him and did not get a receipt for the jewelry so there was nothing I could prove. He has since retired, but I've never forgotten it.

That is one messed up story. I would still be tempted to have a report filed with the Monument police. |
What good would it do? I can't prove anything. |

All I would say is you just never know. If this same guy has some other reports of this kind of behavior it might prompt someone to take a look at this individual. Theft is theft! |
He has since retired. I can't even remember his name now, but he was Chief of Police, in Monument in the 1980's. |

here's my opinion of cops. I'm sure that 90% of cops are good people just trying to do their jobs, and trying to do the right thing. But, the other 10% are the opposite. problem is, I cant tell the difference. So I don't trust cops all together. I'm glad they're here though. Even though I've had some encounters with cops I'd like to forget.

Neo-cons believe that the police are 100% perfect, 100% of the time and have a dream of living in a perfect little facist police state.
Liberals want total control over the populous through economic means. It's how the rich politbureaus enslave the rest of society. So they dream of a perfect little communist police state. Personally, I stand by the constitution. Amendments 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10 guarantee my freedoms. Amendment 2 guarantees the rest.......... |

1 believe that the judcial system in El Paso county is very corrupt. Also, innocent people who are mistakenly put in jail, proved innocent and released, should get at least minimum wage for all the hours spent in the slammer. Only knowledge and public outrage can bring about change. |

If they were'nt always eating donuts and drinking coffee, maybe they would'nt be so jacked up all the time and they would start acting normal.
