North Adams Antiques is already for lease and has been for at least a month now.<quoted text>
Gee Keith, could one be No. Adams Antiques who moved to Williamstown? No surprise here. Gee could the other one be PIP or some other worn out store. It won't be the ones across the street because they have a product. It won't be the Hub or Brew Haha as they have a product. Maybe it will be McClellands which has been ready for the grave yard since Helga left. What you and the rest don't understand is that new types of stores will replace these old tired ones much the same way as new stores filled up the old Kmart building. Keep complaining Keith because everybody is waiting for you to fail just like you have ten times before.
The main flaw in your reasoning that new stores will replace the "tired" old ones is that we have dozens of currently vacant storefronts, all ready and waiting to be filled. They aren't being filled.
As for the stripmall, I agree it is nice to see it filled, but if your idea of a dynamic and thriving downtown is more generic chain stores I think North Adams will lose what is left of it's small town charm.
