I sure remember the Cottonwood bunch. I too lived across the street from the Pendergrass' family. Johnny Marvin, William Smith, Tommy and Diane Sayer. We used to play ball all the time. Great times in the early sixties before we moved down on the island.

He was a mighty good shot with a marble as well. He must have been an all 'round athlete. He used to get most all of my marbles. We were not supposed to play for "keeps", but we did anyway.

There was a young man named Don Medlin (no relation to the implement dealer that is now passed on) that played baseball. He was outstanding at it too.

DON medlin has also passed away several years ago. I grew up with the Medlins and I believe there are only 2 of them living now, Doug and Doris Jean. I do know that Johnny, Don, Harold, Julia and Glenn(Sonny) have all passed. Doug was also a good ball player.I was the score keeper when the games were played at McCarty. It was a great place to grow up. I miss it.

I think it would be great to have a McCarty Party reunion this summer and see how many people would be there. I was in the first class to graduate when the new school was built and the district was consolidated. That was in 1956. If anyone is interested in doing this, let me know on here and we can go from there.
