I got a speeding ticket and a ticket for not having insurance. I just got a letter for 6 points againt my license. 2 for the speeding and 4 for not having insurance. I had car insurance at the time ( always have) when I was pulled over I gave them my old cards that were out - when they came back to the window to give me the tickets- I gave them the current cards - I had them in a different part of my wallet and did not realize I had given them the out dated cards. When I tried to present them with the current card showing I had insurance - they refused to look at it. They said once the ticket had been written it could not be taken away- just to have the judge dismiss it. I did just that and it was dismissed. I did pay my fine for speeding ( which I was- 28 in a 25 mile zone). I called the police station and they said they could not help me. who do i call? Since the fine and ticket for the insurance was dismissed - what do I do to get the points removed. Thanks
This happened in Portageville. I called the city court and they said they could not help me either.

I believe if you go to court and show you had insurance at the time, that ticket may be dropped. As far as the speeding ticket, you may be able to take a driving course to get that off your record. I'm not 100% on this so I would check further into it.

He pulled you over for going 3 miles over? Was the officer's name Barney Fife?

Do they still have those gay pink lights in P-Ville?

Call an attorney for the most accurate advice. It does seem strange to me that they would issue points for a dismissed violation. But whatever you do i would certainly fight it and get those 4 points removed!!

I think you should check with an attorney that deals with those types of cases, but if they dismissed the tickets then they can't take points! It sounds to me like they didn't dismiss them. They have to send something to the state to have points taken off your license, so there was some sort of documents that they sent ie., the two tickets.

Go to the Portageville court and request a copy of the court record on your case. If it differs from what you driving record says. Have the court clerk to certify the copy and send it to the Missouri Department of Revenue. If Portageville will not help you, then drop back spend a few bucks and hire a lawyer. He may have to get the plea set aside, or some other legal stuff u gonna pay for. Just another case of City Courts Gone Wild. (May be a video in there somewhere.)

You need to talk to a lawyer. 3 miles over is not a "point" violation in the State of Missouri anyway.

You can take a defensive driving class, and they will take points off your license, and you can go three years without any traffic convictions and they will start to come off on their own.

you need to call jefferson city. A while back a driver with the same name as me, but who lived in a different part of Missouri got a ticket in Mt. Vernon, Mo. At that time, I had never even been there, but for whatever reason, it showed up on my license, and almost cost me a job, because I am a truck driver. I had to call Jefferson City where they caught the mistake. Maybe they can catch the mistake for you. Just a suggestion.

I got 2 accidents in one year! I have three points on my license, and my insurance went up by $87 dollars, both my accidents will be dropped in March, and May of 2012 (when the world ends). Can I take a denfensive driving class on my own, and will this reduce my mothly payments, even alittle?
What more can I do to lower my points? I know! Don't get into anymore accidents, ya! Thanks smart guy.

You cant get them taken off, you earn them by not getting any more points against you. The longer you go without an tickets or anything they will be taken off little by little.
