The sense of pride expressed by officials of the Obama administration at the release of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is not shared by many of those who served with him, veterans and soldiers who call him a deserter whose "selfish act" ended up costing the lives of better men.
"I was pissed off then, and I am even more so now with everything going on," said former Sgt. Matt Vierkant, a member of Bergdahl's platoon when he went missing on June 30, 2009. "Bowe Bergdahl deserted during a time of war, and his fellow Americans lost their lives searching for him."
Vierkant said Bergdahl needs to not only acknowledge his actions publicly but face a military trial for desertion under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
The Father Is A Muslim as Sgt Bergdhal himself, He Deserted his post to join the enemy and even Had fellow soldiers killed Looking for him!!NOW Obama Deals with Terrorist Which is Illegal and gave up five of the Most Notorious Terrorist in Gitmo for this traitor!!All done Illegally by Obama!! what a Phuckin Dick Obama is to actually Do this!!!He should be Hung along with Bergdahl for Crimes Against the United States!!!....

Sgt. Bergdahl was a deserter. Six brave Americans died trying to find this worthless piece of shit. Then, the same commander in Chief who cant get a marine out of a Mexican jail, and left ambassador Stevens plus four others to die in Benghazi, desides to swap 5 of the worst of the worst terrorists for this Muslim deserter scum, then acts like he's done something great...
When you elect a moron for president, moronic things follow. Everyone who travels abroad now has a target on their back as trade bait for terrorists to kidnap.

You mean to tell me this guy was raised in the US but now he can't talk English? Something is wrong with this picture. We swap 5 for 1 that deserted. Wow something don't smell right. Oh besides the fact the president did it without Congress having a say.

He certainly is no hero - give him his due process and let the military determine his guilt or not - His return is another Obama fiasco - Something (5 hard criminals for what)- of course you could send him back to his squad and let them handle the situation!!!!!

Former Army Sgt. Evan Buetow, who was reportedly Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s team leader on the night he vanished from his base in Afghanistan, claims the military intercepted radio communications shortly after Bergdahl’s disappearance indicating that an American was searching for someone who spoke English so he could talk with the Taliban.
“When we heard that, it told us, okay, he’s actively seeking out the Taliban,” Buetow told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Tuesday.“And, yes, over the next couple of months, all the attacks were far more directed.… There’s a lot more to this story than a solider walking away.”Buetow also alleged that the Taliban’s attacks against American troops became “far more directed” in the months following Bergdahl’s disappearance. He admitted that it could have been “coincidental.”
“Following his disappearance, IEDs started going off directly under the trucks,” he added.“They were getting perfect hits every time. Their ambushes were very calculated, very methodical, like they knew what we were going to do.”
“Obviously, there is no way to prove Bergdahl was feeding them that information, at least I cannot do that,” Buetow said.“It’s incredibly suspicious to me, although there’s no way to prove that Bergdahl was feeding them information, whether he was tortured or whether he was giving it on his own accord.”
Buetow said he doesn’t want to get into the politics of the matter, but rather show that “Bergdahl is a deserter. He’s not a hero, and that he needs to answer for what he did.” This Guy Needs to be Lined up on A wall and shot for Treason And Desertion!!!

Defection is a conscious desertion or abandonment of allegiance and duty. From the sounds of his letters just before he went missing, sending his effects home, odd questions and filling water containers prior to leaving and possibility of being an active Taliban member himself. Many feel that this is an issue of security for other service members. Will he maintain access to military bases and information? He seems to be retaining his rank, awards, back pay and benefits which seems odd and not common under the circumstances. Who gets a purple heart for desertion? Freeing 911 terrorist distresses the survivors and families of the several thousands killed by this group. Lack of regard rather makes people question the administrations reasoning ability. How much did his desertion cost tax payers and his unit?

I'm also disappointed in the field commanders who ordered a search for the deserter. Usually, a desertion is a job for CID to investigate not his fellow soldiers. Unless they were ordered to shoot him when found.
