it seems to me that all the land on the island is either private and posted or state with special regulations. if your stands came up missing on private land you should just cut your losses and go to avoid further legal actions against you for tresspassing etc.....if your stands came up missing from state land you should contact the missouri department of conservation. looks like a 50/50 chance of getting your property back. if i would have found them on my families private posted and painted land, they'd be on e-bay right now. so good luck to you, maybe if you hurry you can place the winning bid

Hey you hunters watch out for a guy out there named mike curtis from hayti he'll follow you ever where you go out there trying to get you in trouble he thinks he owns the whole dam Iland. He tryed to get several people in trouble last season but it did not work he is a pure ass hole you will know him when you meet him. HE AINT SHIT BUT A PUNK RUNNING HIS MOUTH.
Actually Mike Curtis is a very good person. I happen to know him very well. An as a matter of fact he does own quite a bit of land on the island. If you own something, such as the land your house sits on, you would NOT want someone comming on it an say...shooting your dog, would you? I didnt think so! He owns the land, pays taxes on it, grows crops on most of it and you don't think he has the right to keep people off of it. If it was your only source of income you would like to protect it too I believe. How about we come set a fire in the middle of your workplace or drive a truck through it. How would you earn your money to support the family? Okay. Point proved. If you can read or see that purple means no trespassing and you like breaking the law and messing with people's lives then you are just an idiot.

And by the way "ILAND HUNTER"...It's iSland! Shows your knowledge of the island. You obviously do not know that much if you cant even spell it...

You people should really stop using this site as a place to gossip. Help the person get their stand back or don't, it is your choice. But if I recal, the name of this thread was just about a stolen deer stand. Not about who is on who's land or your opinion of anyone who has a RIGHT to be back there. Let's just grow up. Laws are laws, not guidlines. If you are caught breaking them there will be consequenses. And Mike Curtis has all the right in the world to keep people off of his private, posted land. Just as much right as you have to keep someone from driving your car.

Okay I think I can resolve this issue. If you think that you have a stolen deer stand please report it to the Sheriff's Office. They have taken a report of stolen stand from up there and would be glad to get it back to the rightful owner. Call either J.H. or R.H. at the Sheriff's Office and they will help you out. Quit fighting over this issue and be happy hunters

No haven't heard of any stolen deer stands. I take them when they are on my property and I was not asked could they be placed there.
