Question one was about the ObamaCare website. Mr. O'Reilly wanted to know, first, when Obama knew, for sure, that the website was going to have problems of the magnitude that it did.

Think of the premise behind that question. Health care was Obama's signature initiative. The website is its portal to the world, and the fulcrum of its success or failure. Obama somehow learns well in advance that the website won't work, thereby jeopardizing his entire presidency, and says nothing about it to anyone, because...? Because? Well, at this point, I admit my imagination fails me. I can't possibly envision why Obama would want to sabotage his own presidential legacy. But by spending time trying to figure out when Obama knew, O'Reilly is promoting the theory that...well, I still don't quite get what the point is.

Of course, Obama had no answer to the unanswerable. Then O'Reilly asked him why he hadn't fired Kathleen Sebelius, the head of the Department of Health and Human Services, once the magnitude of the problems became clear. On the surface, this is a marginally better question. But it's been asked and answered: Obama doesn't blame her for the problems with the site. A much better question, one that should have occurred to every Obama-hating producer at Fox News, is this: "Mr. President, can you provide one example of when you held someone specifically accountable for a major screwup? One example? Over five years?" And if Obama prevaricated, then O'Reilly could have asked Obama why he seems to go out of his way not to hold his political appointees publicly accountable for mistakes of omission or commission.

But instead, O'Reilly entered the imaginary world of conspiracies and cover-ups and let the president off easy.

Benghazi was subject number two. Apparently, O'Reilly missed the second presidential debate of 2012, where this point was litigated and decided, but he asked Obama about the subject of a conversation between himself and Gen. Carter Ham, then head of all U.S. troops in Africa, on September 11, 2012. O'Reilly wanted to know if Ham told Obama that terrorists were responsible. Now, if you weren't paying attention to the news for the past several years, maybe you don't know that Fox News still believes that Obama's administration deliberately and repeatedly decided to obscure the role that militants associated with al Qaeda played in the Benghazi compound attack.(Investigations-upon-in vestigations later, the answer is, interestingly, that it's not entirely clear.) But because Obama was so afraid that if he acknowledged an al Qaeda connection in Benghazi, it would undermine his claim that he had decimated core al Qaeda and thus his claim to have acted responsibly to protect the American people, and thus, he would certainly lose the election to Mitt Romney.

O'Reilly could have asked Obama whether he had intelligence that arms provided to Libyans ended up in Syria. Or he could have asked Obama whether Benghazi caused him to re-examine American deployments around the world. Or whether the Libyan intervention was worth it. Or even about Egypt.

But instead, he play-acted.

Final question was about the IRS scandal. Or, not scandal, since there's no evidence of anything approaching "scandalous" or illegal or thuggish behavior by the IRS. But ok. Instead of asking Obama whether the IRS's move to crack down on 501(c) social welfare groups will unfairly put conservatives at a disadvantage, or to ask him whether he endorsed the tougher enforcement because of imbalances created by the Citizens United campaign finance decision, O'Reilly again asked the president about his conversations with the head of the IRS at the time, a total irrelevancy.

O'Reilly's questions were grossly, wholly ridiculous. They don't exist as legitimate questions except in the way that they justify the masturbatory self-indulgence of Fox News' elite worldview, which increasingly, if not entirely, is self-pitying. These questions exist because if they didn't, our world view would fall apart.

It's a shame. O'Reilly had 15 minutes and an audience of millions to ask the president hard questions like our economy or perhaps jobs...the thing The Republicans dont care about.

Instead, he lobbed lumpy softballs.

Worst presidential interview ever.

It was disgusting to see O'Reilly ask questions thats already been answered time and time again yet the Republicans dont get the answer they want, they rely on Fox News to tell them what they want to hear.

You two butt sucking knuckleheads would have fought over who got the prime real estate on the presidents hind end.

Toughest questions you two would have asked would be "am I sucking too hard Mr. President???"

O'Reilly was respectful. He realized everyone who was objective would realize the President was telling one lie after another.

No reason to give the President an excuse to take his ball and storm off the stage crying.

Then provide the proof you say you have that Obama is lying about all what you O'Reilly and everyone else who believes Fox is a news agency. Talk about taking your ball and storm off the stage!! You word wars dont work on everyone. When you grow a spine, let me know because I would really like to hear your documented proof on Obama and the allegations you accuse of.

Daniel, even the democratic analysts say Obama should tell the truth, when it's so obvious he's lying...
The IRS scandal. The head of the IRS took the fifth in front of an investigative panel led by a democrat! A month later he resigned and beat it out of town! At the time Obama called it a mess and promised to get to the bottom of it.

A year later he says there wasn't even a smidgen of wrongdoing....lol

Yeah, this president depends on lame brained democratic butt sucks like yourself to swallow all the lies and come to his defense....lol

So, I guess we can chalk you down as 'unable to offer a truthful answer' from the O'Reilly interview.

I wouldn't be too upset if I were you. I don't think it can be done.

Nice smartass Obama buttsucker answer though....

normally, sitting at the right side of things, I have to agree that o'reilly conducted a bad interview - many I am thinking that way because I was looking for an interview about the game - questions may have been reasonable, but timing sucked - it was game time, not time for politics

All day, and still no proof.

Nothing but name calling because you know what a idiot you look like now.
I dont have to give you details about how I voted and for what matter would it be to you anyhow? Your mind is made up because apparently you know everything about everything. So whats with the name calling? Is that your best and only reply when someone has a difference of opinion?

I asked you a question and you avoid it still by not answering but asking another question to distort the fact that you have no proof to document any allegations you have against Obama and believe me, you appear to be a obsessed person with a mental issue of social networking lacking there of.

No proof? Exactly as expected from a community college grad.
Disdained mind stuck in a area of poverty. You think the whole country is like your surroundings. Your small Comrade.

It I'm not mistaken, this was the third time Obama and O'Reilly have done one of these super bowl interviews. All three have been about the news stories of the day, not football.

In the past couple interviews, O'Reilly threw the President softball questions, this time he didn't play as much kissy face.

I see where FOX News was polled to be the most trusted news outlet on the US airwaves. NBC was polled as the least trustworthy.

Intelligent viewer's know when the President is lying. All the President could come up with, was it's all the fault of FOX news. The truth is, he has stunk as president and his policies have failed.

- I am too big of a football and Manning fan to want to listen to o'reillly or Obama or any other politician throw barbs at each other during a festive time - Nothing was said that had not been said before - yeah, Obama, lies and lied during the interview - he is a politician - politicians say what they think will keep them popular and/or in office - I am just saying keep the sh!t in its proper place - and if o'reilly wants to play softball or hardball, let him do it at the world series!
