Imagine this happening to you, One Sunday Morning during Service, A 2000 member congregation was surprised to see to men inter...BOTH covered head to toe in black AND carrying Guns, One of the men proclaimed "Anyone willing to take A bullet for Christ remain where you are" Immediately the D econ Fled, The Choir fled, AND most of the Congregation Fled...Out of the 2000 only 20 remained. The Man who had spoken took of his hood...He then Looked at the pastor and said "OK Pastor I got rid of All the Hypocrites, Now you may begin your service, Have A nice Day.....And the two men walked out...How many would ACTUALLY STAY? who would run for their lives? or who would stay for God and Jesus?.......

The sad part is that story so much reflects how we take the responsibility of being a Christian, convienence. My spirit says stay, the flesh says go, I'd relunctantly stay. God bless |

I would stay. I would alway 'choose' to die for Him...
|

It's an easy thing to say sitting at A keyboard, I myself have thought of this all day and I can't say if I would stay or leave, Honestly the first thing that pops into my head is the safety of my family first and foremost... |

Yes, it is an easy thing to say. I talk to my family every chance I get about it. I always tell them-no matter what happens-WE ALL WILL DIE FOR HIM. That goes for torture, taking of a number/chip implant, buying groceries-Whatever the situation WE ALL KNOW TO DIE FOR HIM.
Jerry, when you have a relationship with Him, His presence surrounding you, your trust and faith in His hands, knowing that Jesus died so that we get that SECOND chance (instead of dealing directly w/God's wrath)knowing the pain, horror, and torment Jesus went through FOR you and me-it really does make the decision very easy for me. I will die for Him-just as He did for me. |

As for the rapture, you were discussing on the other forum-I believe your soul will leave this earth and meet Him in the air. Just as it states in the bible. Where two will be in the field and one will disappear.
I believe your flesh, skin, bones stay here and your soul leaves the earth at that moment of His second coming. Then the rest is left here for the tribulation. The sad part about it is that He will take the Holy Spirit during tribulation. The question is: If we can't live for Him now while His presence, His holiness surrounds us, how in the world does anyone think they can survive tribulation-dying for Him (enduring to the end) without HIM or the Holy Spirit with us? That is why, I believe we should always stay ready, repenting daily of our sins, genuinely repenting of our sins. Tomorrow is not promised. Tonight is not promised. He will come like a theif in the night. That doesn't mean He will come in the night or the day. Just will come when No One knows.. Therefore always 'be ready.' Right now, YES, it would be glorious to meet HIM and be rid of all the sicknesses that my family has/is facing, to be rid of the death and mourning, to be rid of seeing the famine and diseases. Yes it would be glorious to have that new body without any aches and pains. To walk the streets of gold.. BUT, I have soooo many 'unsaved' loved ones right now. I want more time. Just a little more time-to make sure they make it..... Sorry, to have went on and on.. This is just the way I believe....:) |

I understand what Jerry is saying. If really confronted, which would you choose: Life or Death
I know death for Christ's sake is eternal life but I still get a little scared thinking about walking that lonesome valley all alone. And "yep", I agree with you also on needing more time. I have loved ones unsaved I am trying to witness to. I suppose if I feel fear of dying, maybe I can't be a good witness. Do any of you think that fearing death will have an effect on my salvation? I know it shouldn't, but I just wonder...... |

I'd like to think that I'd stay if it were just me, but I have a two year old daughter. Hard to say if I would be able to sit there and watch her take a bullet if I knew that I was able to keep it from happening.

This world is not the final home of saint or sinner.I as a christian can sit here and say Yes I will die for you Jesus just like Peter did but just as he failed, I may fail...I believe what we need to do is purpose in our heart that as things get hard and should the time come when we have to make tough decisions that we can keep our eyes on the promise's given us and not the circumstances. The Bible says Stephen looked up in peace and saw Jesus as he was being stoned to death.A good way to gage our response to the Question about what we would do is what have we done in the past.Do we stand with Jesus and walk away when co-workers are telling dirty jokes etc....If you can't stand for Him now in the small things- you won't die for him later-- guaranteed...

I can't say what I would do, really depends on the actual situation. I would take a bullet for Christ, for sure. However...
So maybe they are hypocrites. But part of the church's work is to GIVE the people an opportunity to follow Christ. If they aren't at church, chances are small that they will be given that blessed opportunity. The Holy Spirit will work in each of those people in His way, and the first step was bringing them to that church. We have to remember that hypocricy is no larger sin than murder, adultury, lying, etc etc. There is room for improvement, but always for forgiveness. So sure, there may be hypocrites in the church. But we are liars and theives. We don't deserve to be there anymore then they do. Just my thoughts. |

The one that started this topic was quick to describe the gunmen in detail but said little about those in the church. The question is are you prepared to meet Christ or are we just an attender? Are we living for Christ today or you putting on a show. Are we doing our best to live for Christ daily. We are more likely to meet the gunman outside the church than in and he doesn't always carry a gun. Death is certain for everyone unless we are alive at Christ,s return.
We will someday wake up on the other side of death, either in heaven or hell. It's our choice. As for the gunmen they are too late, Christ already took the bullet for me, my fate is decided. Thank you Jesus--Calvary must have been a lonely place. |

Damn right I would, right out to my car, call 9-11 and then right back in with my Glock 40 and start blasting! People may think Jesus was a pacifist, he wasn't, but we know for sure his dad wasn't, remember Sodom & Gomorrah!!!

Here's a thought; When Eve bit the fruit we were given choices. Why would God demand that we die as proof of our commitment? That hasn't happened since the old testament. Peter denied that he knew Jesus and he was absolved of his sins. I don't think God wants us to die. I think that we are supposed to cherish our lives, they are his gift. Who do you help if you decide that it is worth staying in your seat? Why die young when you can do his work for so much longer?
