I am a somewhat dedicated worker. I do what I am told and I am good at my job. The shipyard just doesn't pay enough. I have factory experience and can anyone tell me (preferably an NYS employee) what does it take to get on? Really, do you have to know somebody or wait until someone dies or what?

Let me tell you something Justin!!
I've been all over these forums and seen you talk shit about all kinds of topics that you obviously know nothing about!!
Well low and behold, heres another topic you don't know a damn thing about---NUCOR!!

Well i work there so I do. And first of all, they WILL NOT hire you if you don't have an education!!

Second of all, you've never taken the test, because if you had and you aced it, you would have most likely got hired!

And last but not least, if you had of got hired and you ran your damn mouth like you do on here, then someone would have done a lot of people on this forum a big favor and you would have found your ass at the bottom of one of those big ladles

Why does everyone who doesn't or can't get on there have to bash Nucor? Yes, you have to have a education and a very good work ethic. It is dangerous but that's why the pay is so good, and I mean good. If you do your job safely Nucor will take care of you.
Yeah, Just as Nucor stands behind their employees who have been to Iraq and back! Was let go because I have to take meds for pain after being hurt in Iraq after my Humvee hit an IUD. Worked my ass off out there for 10 years, only took my meds on my four days off because (I) didn't want to on my days working. The good news was they said I could draw my unemployment. Like I would even sign up after working and making that kind of pay. My kids and wife like to eat and have nice things. So just hope nothing ever happens to you! Also, Hear recently they've been hiring some piece of shit guys that haven't worked much at all and are coming out of the Lab. A friend of mine knows one, and I met him at a funeral in Kennett. Young, worked at a grocery store, and at Schick Steele for five months, has a kid with his wife and she has three others. Lives in a shit hole in Kennett. Guess they need the money more than I. Stay at the Shipyard! Way to go Nucor.

First of all Schueck Steel is not spelled Shick Steel. And another thing, if u had told them about your meds, they would have put them down and would have been aware of what you where taking. that is just an excuse. there are always two sides to a story.
