Debiie, I passed on your message about Jimmy Dodson to his brother and sister yesterday. They were so happy, they cried, just to think that 39 yrs after his death, his life has had an impact on yours and then through you, I'm sure many others. This is so wonderful. Thank you for sharing that, and his family asked me to thank you. Vicky. p.s. I think that 76 graduate got Jimmy Dodson mixed up with Jimmy Onley, because Jimmy Dodson was only 13 when he died of a brain
aneurysm.
Thanks, Vicky. I was a little confused about the Jimmy's. Your note meant so much to me. Can't believe he has been gone 39 years.

Here's another one - Sarah Maners. Anyone remember her? I stayed out of school to attend her funeral and that wasn't allowed by Joe Parkinson. Then I ran into him at the funeral and the next day when I went to the office with the note from my mom, he said something like, it was a nice service or something and approved it! I was shaking in my boots!
(Sammy Maners was a good friend of my brother, Mike)

Debbie, I do remember Sarah who was Sammy's twin. Sammy used to hang around with Wyatt W. and Billy (can't remember his last name). I went to that visitation too. Boy, we are aging huh? I was trying to remember your brothers names. Which one was the same age as my sister Teresa? She will be 48 next month. Also, do you remember the Hedge girls, Jan and Debbie? They moved around 1978 to Houston, TX, but I still am close to them. They lived on Grand. Anyway, their Dad, Eldon, died last night in Houston. I have a lot of good memories of staying at their house as a teen. Vicky

Hi, Vicky. My "little" brother is Stephen Holland (he will be 48 in January). He is retired from the Air Force (this coming January actually) and lives in Maryland with his wife and 14 year old son.

I have an older brother (55) Mike Holland. He is also retired from the AF and lives in Virginia.

You are just a wealth of information!!! So, where does Sammy Maners live now?

I kind of remember the Hedge girls. They were a little younger than us, huh? I remember their dad, too. Sorry to hear about his passing.

I am trying to find Craig in Jonesboro. There is a Dr. Craig McDaniel. How cool is that!

K.C. PoPo was Kevin not Joe. Joe grad in 74 Kevin would have been in 78 but he pulled Mr. Willis out of his house and beat his ass and didn't get to graduate. Kevin is a grounds superintendent.

Kevin Kulpeksa, the guy who ran for Student Counsel President with Wendell McGill, beat up the science teacher Mike Willis? Ahh, c'mon now, that would have been something that I would have remembered I would think. The only thing I do really remember was Kevin and Steve Johnson getting tanked during a float trip down Current River that was "chaparoned" by Coach Welch -- Yeah, there was a lot of grief raised about that when it was discovered that the trip was paid for by Booster Club proceeds.

Hey that was a good trip down the river reguardless of who paid for it. And Harv did an excellant job at the helm. And that is the reason that kevin got kicked out of school for life. It was a teacher and I think I got it right. I sure don't remember those two being the only ones tanked as you called it but I do remember Po Po and Wap being bout as tanked as anyone. Remember there were lady tigers on the trip also.

It was a varsity "C" trip. Who else would have paid for it? They only paid for the canoes and gas. All the extras were byo.

Yes, Bssouth2007, there were women on the trip with us --- The only reason I know for certain that Kevin & Steve were completely tanked was because I was left paddling "our" canoe solo for about the final 8th of a mile to the end of the trip; and, when Steve and Kevin stumbled out the canoe it ended up flipping over tossing me, and a cooler filled with empty beer bottles into the river -- But yeah, it was fun as all get out and included a whole lot of funny moments.

I allways believed that coach Welch groomed the C'ville football program to the point that Coach Block could pick it up and run with it.

I think Amanda McCall had a car wreck. She was a sweet girl.

Sadly, Coach Bethune shot himself.
