Check out this website on this documentary coming out. Does anyone remember this guy coming into town over the winter? I noticed a few familiar faces in the pictures/trailer...

Any thoughts/comments about this film coming out and what it may do to shed more light on the plight of our town?

Why did you decided to make a film about all the horrible stuff that has happened here? I sure you mean well by your film, but what about the family and friends that had to overcome such a lose.

It is the way EVERY movie that is based on a true story is, no different. You have probably watched several yourself. It had to affect someone somewhere.

Cvillequeen -

The goal of this film is to bring about awareness of suicide and, hopefully, help someone else out there who is is thinking about it. I know it is painful, but if anything, maybe something positive can come from that pain. What if we can save a life from it... What if we can get people to open their eyes to an national epidemic...

I think you did a good job. Hopefully it will make a difference in someone's life and if so it will mean time well spent on your project. Was this your first time being exposed to the bootheel or do you know someone from here, I got a friend who used to call this town "misery", wandering if you knew him. GBY

I went to school with two of the young men. I had the honor of graduating with one of them. The other moved to a different school before graduation. Also the young man from hayti was a very close friend of mine. All three were special to me in a different way! I am anxious to see if the film will help anyone who ever had the thought of committing suicide. These days it almost takes the death of a friend to show others what can happen. I may never know or meet the teenages, or even adults who have thought about suicide and didnt because of this video. I do know that everything happens for a reason and some day all the deaths of my friends will add up. I can't think of a reason why God would let 3 of my friends take their lives, but one day I will know. Maybe after this video i will understand. after i sit back and look at last years summer from a different perspective, i may be able to put 2 + 2 together! It is hard to brign the past back up! we try to get over it and move on but we all know that we never will. If it will help any other community to see this film, then that may be one reason! I appreciate you mark for taking the time to go into detail. I just hope that you realize the trauma we have all been through and that we have no moved on. Even from the tornado! And put that on the screen to show everyone what they do to the people they leave behind!

To Mark Phillip,

I guess noone told you about the Coach from Caruthersville that took his own life just days after the tonado. That had an effect on two towns. Hayti was where he coached my son in Baseball that year. He was also a good man. He taught a lot of students from this area. I agree with you about making the movie. If it were my son that would have been involved I would be honored for someone to make a film about it to maybe help someone else's child not do it. I knew some of the boys my oldest went to school with one of them. People need to realize that what we do every day affects more than the people we see. Thank you for reading.

I would like to know what the tornado and the suicides have to do with each other? I know drugs had something to do with it.
