My my my 61, I see you take Lithium too. Am I clear?

That does it Im not saying Merry Christmas ever again! After all these years of seeing the baby Jesus in a manger and singing all those Christian hymns of the "REASON FOR THE SEASON" now I'm to be informed that Christmas is not a Holy Day!

Isn't it enlightening to know that Christians post in Topix!!!! Especially those who know everything about Christianity and politics. Im actually jealous of 61. She has Lithium on a IV drip. Am I clear?

I read your one comment about Christmas and now you think I follow you? LOL Lady get a new doctor and some meds. The reason so many post to you? Probably because of your "Im always right and your going to hell" attitude like you have. One day your posting scripture and in the same using the Lords name in vain. Yea explain that 61? Explain why you harp on people should respect others on their religious views and then you post Christmas isnt a holy day. Well then lets all start saying HAPPY HOLIDAYS then instead of MERRY "CHRIST"MAS then you warped idiot!!!
You are missing my point completely!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with celebrating Christmas - or saying Merry Christmas. But, don't keep saying CHRISTMAS IS A HOLY DAY! Because, according to the bible - it is not!

Yes, I celebrate Christmas & have all my life - but, I keep in mind that this is just a man-made holiday & has no bibical basis for being called a holy day.

We must keep Christmas in perspective - because nowhere in the bible are commanded or told to celebrate Christ's birthday. But, we are told to remember his death, burial & ressurection for our sins - ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK - EVERY WEEK!!!

How many people who are so gung- ho about Christmas being a holy day - even bother to remember Christ's suffering & death on the cross?

Why would you or any person overlook a DIRECT COMMANDMENT FROM THE LORD - and yet, go all out to celebrate his birthday??? CHRIST NEVER COMMANDED OR TOLD US TO CELEBRATE HIS BIRTHDAY...

Neither Christ, nor any of his apostles or any scripture in the bible tells us to celebrate Christ's birth. So, why would most of the people in the world make such a big deal about Christmas being a holy day & completely NEGLECT REMEMBERING CHRIST'S DEATH, BURIAL & RESSURECTION ON EACH FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK BY PARTAKING OF THE LORD'S SUPPER (the unleaven bread & the fruit of the vine).

Can you answer this question for me???

Many many many people seem to want to keep the warm & fuzzy feeling of Christmas - thinking they are conforming to the teachings of the bible - WHEN NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH.

Why do you keep saying that I keep using the Lord's name in vain? This is simply not true!!!
One time months & months ago I used the initials GD. When I did this, I was very put out with Tiger High for making fun of bible scriptures. What I was saying was that God would damn him - if he didn't stop trying to make a mockery of bible scriptures...

And this is true - the only UNFORGIVABLE SIN IS THE SIN OF BLASPHEMY! And God will surely damn any person's soul to hell if they are guilty of blasphemy..

couple of things - i wasn't making fun of bible scriptures, i was making fun of you - and you did use the GD as cursing - i do believe in your mind you weren't, but perception is there - you should know that people are always trying to catch a believer in christ in a "non-christian attitude" - i have asked you this before and i don't remember an answer - who decides/decided that, in the eyes of God, Sunday is the first day of the week - Sunday was made the first day of the week by man, not God, just as celebrating christ's birthday on the 25th was created by man, not God. So, any day one chooses as the first day of week to worship and make holy is o.k as long as they are firm in their beliefs. You have argued that Sunday is the day one should make holy, but it is as man made as christmas. now, never hunted until i came down here - now i can't get enough of shooting/hunting hogs - what a thrill - we don't do it like the tv reality show - we start baiting an area about 1/4 a mile away, spreading corn all the way up to an open area - there is a trough in the open area full of corn and the hogs make there way to feed - we have 3 deer stands around the clearing - when the hogs are packed around the trough, we open up - have killed as many as 25 in one shooting - humane? probably not, but the farmers are damn glad we are doing it!!! stay warm - 66 down here will be the high for the day!!!

No I'm afraid no one is missing your point about anything you post. Your point is clear as water when it comes to anything you post. "I'm always right and you're going to hell if you disagree with me"! Just like Comrade Winston does as you do 61. You two were made for each other! You cant accept the fact that not everyone will agree with either of you two idiots who plagiarize Topix with political and religious banter just for attention span only! I also read where you used the Lords name in vain, a sin, a blasphemy sin of the Ten Commandments, you do remember those dont you? Or is your bible of a different culture disregard the Ten Commandments the Lord set down vie Moses for man to adhere to? The way you post, it sounds as though only you (and Comrade) can go about living your life daily and sinning all those nasty vile and degrading sins and have nothing to worry about because God is going to save you. Yes God is going to let me in the Kingdom of Heaven and I have nothing to worry about simply because "I believe". Well I believe too and I also believe your about the biggest hypocrite in this forum along with Comrade that lives to argue and only here because no one else at home will listen to your warped thoughts or beliefs because of you voiced your opinion publicly and people knew who you were, then you would cower like the cowards you both are. Tell that to Jesus , not me. Yes lets see your explanation to Christ on why you slandered insulted and displayed more hypocrisy than some Televangelist? The fact still remains the same on the both of you. You've lied, you've slandered, you've used the Lords name in vain, you've also called people horrible names in here but want the readers to see you as a "holy person". Shes the same type of people that preaches about stop saying Happy Holidays and say Merry Christmas then condescends her own ignorance by quoting Christmas is not a holy day. Why do they call it "CHRIST-mas then if not being of a holy nature? Who cares whether it was Jesus birthday or not???? Christmas is about JESUS, whether the old bat likes it or not! So shut up with the religious crap if its not a holy day then according to the old bat! Then we hear these same fools like her griping that Christmas isnt about buying gifts for kids-but about Jesus!!! Yet she claims its not a holy day? Make up your mind then! Is it Happy Holidays because Christmas isnt a holy day or just say Merry Christmas to keep the hypocrites like her and CW happy?

It's a shame the spirit of Christmas only touches your detractor on Dec. 25th. I guess Santa Clause has to make a special Christmas night delivery before Gods love becomes real to them.

Tiger High,
I'm going to try to answer you question about "Who decides in the eyes of God that Sunday is the first day of the week"?

As you know, God, himself in the beginning introduced the 7 day week. No matter what they call in in what country, there is always a first day of the week. When God created the earth - he rested on the 7th day. This became the basis for the Sabbath day under the OLD COVENANT - THE LAW OF MOSES. This Old Covenant ended on the Day of Pentecost.

The first day of the week is the day Christ rose from the dead.- the day of Pentecost! This is the first day of the Kingdom of God/Jesus.

These scriptures describe to us what the day of Pentecost was like:(Mark 9-1)(Acts 1:8)(Acts 2:1-4)

These scriptures show us that Pentecost was on the first day of the week:(Matthew 28:1)(Mark 16:2,9)(Luke 24:1)(John 20:1)(Acts 2:42).

Here's a few scriptures which will help you understand that the early diciples/Christians came together on the first day of the week to partake of the Lord's supper & to give of their means (money) to the work of the Church. The apostles (being divinely inspired) instructed the early Christians to meet on the first day of the week to worship God.

(Acts 20:7) shows us that on the first day of the week the diciples came together to break bread (the Lord' Supper) and preached to them.

(1 Corinthians 11:24-26) is the example THAT CHIRIST HIMSELF GAVE IN PARTAKING OF THE LORD'S SUPPER.

Tiger High, please read & study all the scriptures I've given. I believe they will help you understand the reason the the FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK IS THE DAY WE OBSERVE THE DAY CHRIST ROSE FROM THE DEAD, THE DAY OF PENTECOST & THE FIRST DAY OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD/CHRIST.

In answer to your remark - It would not be acceptable to substitute any other day of the week for Sunday (or the first day of the week) for our worship service. I'm not saying we can't worship God on any day of the week - BUT, WE MUST ALWAY SET ASIDE SUNDAY AS OUR DAY OF WORSHIP...

As you can see (when you read the scriptures I've given you) The first day of the week is not a MAN MADE MADE UP DAY OF WORSHIP. It is a divinely inspired day of worship...

So all those scriptures 61 used and not one has set what day of the Roman calendar he Sabbath day truly is. If we are to read the calendar as it reads, Saturday would be of the Sabbath. But no, when you are discussing anything religious with a fanatic like 61 and Comrade are, it's pointless t debate because with them they know they will always be right and never wrong because in their state of mind they can do no wrong and are free of sin.

Evidently you don't know why there are different denominations then. Not everyone believes the same things. Baptist believe once saved always saved, Penecostal don't, Church of Christ don't believe in music and I could go on but you get it. Most Christians believe Sunday to be the first day of the week. Jews its Saturday. You Burntoe just want to argue and that is about it. Sunday to me is the first day of the week so.... get over your self. God says remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. He says the Sabbath. A day of worship and rest. What day is that???? It is what day you keep to go to worship with others that want to worship and believe the same. Why argue about it? We celebrate Christ's birth and his death. Celebrate yes celebrate. Both times are to celebrate the coming in birth to deliver the world and to celebrate this death because he over came it and did it for everyone. End of argument really.

Guest,
I can agree with some of what you say, however, not to be disrespectful - I would like to give you some information about "the Sabbath" you may not be aware of.

First of all, the Sabbath was ONLY GIVEN TO ISRAEL/JEWS - not the rest of the world!

(Exodus 31-16-17) "Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generation as a perpetual covenant.

The Sabbath was made for the JEWS ONLY as a day of rest - NOT WORSHIP!

No where in the bible will you find any command - to Gentiles to observe the Sabbath! In case you don't know - A Gentile is anyone is who is not a Jew (which is you & me)- that is, unless you ARE a Jew.

The only way a Gentile would have been required to observe the Sabbath - was if he had converted to the Jewish faith.

Neither will you find any where in the bible that Sunday is the day that replaced the Sabbath. The Sabbath was always on the LAST DAY OF THE WEEK! And, we know that day as Saturday.

When God said, "Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy" - he was talking to the Isralites/Jews who came out of Egyptian bondage.

This commandment was not given to the Gentiles. This commandment is part of the Old Covenant - the Law of Moses. This Old Covenant/the Law of Moses was nullified when Christ died on the cross.

On the day of Pentecost - when Christ arose from the dead is when is when the New Covenant began. This is the day The Kingdom of God/Christ began.

Under the New Covenant - the early Christians came together on the first day of the week to partake of the Lord's Supper, to give of their means (money), to sing & pray & Preach & worship God.

In an earlier post - I have given scriptures which show that the Apostles taught the early disciples/Christians to gather on the first day of the week to worship God.

This worship service on the first day of the week - was in no way representative of what the the Sabbath (of the Old Covenant) was - because this Sabbath was ONLY A DAY OF REST - NOT A DAY OF WORSHIP...

But, on the day of Pentecost - all the Old Covenants (as well as the Sabbath) became null & void. On the day of Pentecost both Jew & Gentile were under the New Covenant.

Yes, this means that even Jews are subject to the commandments of the New Covenant in the New Testament. But sadly, many many Jewish people still cling on to the Old Covenant laws...

Name calling is all you got aint it Comrade? What a sad shallow little man you are. I go by facts and history. You go by what you see in your local and racist small society you live in. You've never traveled the globe like I have. You've never met different cultures throughout the world and religion like I have. In your own words, who cares? Your a nobody now and you'll wake up reading this the same nobody you were and always will be. Get use to it because your attitude wont take you far in life. Enjoy that double wide bud!

61, i get that we are to supposed to observe the sabbath - but our calendar is man made, 61, it is friggin man made - it doesn't matter which day we observe as the sabbath as long as we do it - most christians have chosen sunday as that day - your scripture does not specify our calendar sunday as the sabbath day, just as our bible does not mention christ's birthday as 12/25 - my "divinely inspired day of worship" happens to be sunday - others have different days for different reasons and they are just as "christian" as you or anyone else - but thanks for telling me that if i don't obvserve the "right" sabbath or if i play music in church or if i believe that female preachers are ok i am doomed for hell!!- I would quote you scripture in the old testament that says it is ok to smoke pot, but since you have declared the old testament "null and void" i won't waste my time - i haven't seen any thing or any one as narrow minded as you since i was a kid - grandpa had a couple pair of mules he farmed with - now they were narrow minded, but, hell, they were friggin mules - what's your excuse
