anyone know anything about the guy running for the position? I have never heard of him even as an attorney. is he from here? lawyer around here? etc? thanks

Jeremy Lytle..... He's young man. Worked with Wendell Hoskins II af. I have talked to him on occasion and I'm impressed with him. Lives in Hayti. Licensed in various states.

He hasn't been a lawyer long enough to be in that position in my opinion. Whoever has that job needs to know the law inside and out and shouldn't be afraid to take a stand against these other lawyers around here. The problem right now is our PA and judges let too many people get away with crimes.

I totally agree with to many getting by with crimes that they continue to commit over and over.
we do need someone in there that is willing to take a stand.
I understand probation first offense (depending on charge), but to appear again while on probation with another charge - lock them up and make them do their time.

In the criminal justice system, everyone has a job (prosecute, judge, defense). Sometimes gathering of evidence is accidentally compromised by the police or witnesses are not reliable. Regardless as long as everyone does their jobs adequately all should serve justice well. The prosecutor has about 1,000 cases at anyone time in the pipeline which is way too much. Innocent until proven guilty is good, but often times the media hangs the accused without due process. And if you have influence (politics) or money the same crime with command less punishment. This is the way it is and will always be.
