Boy are you mixed up! They are talking about the cemetery in Caruthersville! Yes it is a son-in-law taking care of it but not Bradshaw???? Try Fike!
And yes the cemetery has looked better in past years. So sad for our community. We have a pretty town and the cemetery is a big part of it.
PLEASE PLEASE START TAKING BETTER CARE OF IT PEOPLE! If the son-in-law can't get the job done then hire someone else!!!!!!!!!!

Let's don't start burying people alive now. I do beleive they require you to be dead to be buried there!!!!!!!!!!

I stand corrected...sorry!

BUT the one in C'Ville is disappointing. If the son-in-law there can't handle it then give it to someone who CAN keep the grounds looking good. It has never looked this bad before that I can remember!

I was there at the Caruthersville cemeterary yesterday where I have a whole lot of relatives buried. I was also at Pemiscot Memorial Gardens. I have a great uncle out there. That cemetary is very clean and kept up very nicely.
thank you

The one next to the interstate is always clean, but my daughters dad is buried there. He died when she was 13 and she put a very small figurine next to his vase and the next time we went...it was gone!! We found it in the burn pile and then they posted notes that flowers must be in vase, no figurines, no hanging baskets, etc. He chose to be buried there in his family plot, but if I would have had any say, he would've been put somewhere else. Just dont like the flat stones, there's not much you can put on there, especially from kids who dont understand. Just my thoughts, no bashing.

that is true but before the son in law took over it wasnt as bad i know they have rules but nobody knows them there were shepards hooks out there for twenty years so how would you know they were agaisnt the rules i met out there once and he was really hateful i just do not get how you are supposed to run a cemetary with such a bad attitude

I have a niece who is buried out at the one by the interstate and yes they did remove the sheppard hooks becuase that is how I knew where she was buried. She does not have a head stone (requested that before she died) and that was the ONLY way I could remember. I went out there back on Memorial Day weekend and was very disappointed. I never really looked to see the surrounding head stones names--I felt that there was no reason. I had to leave with out placing any flowers on her grave site. I was very upset. I hope that they start taking better care of all of them. More people should start complaining or at least find the right ones to listen. Does anyone know who to contact? If so please leave a number on here and I will contact them myself. I am not living in that area anymore so when I do get to visit I always try to make it out to her grave site. Any information would be appreciated.

The cemetary in Caruthersville is th e one that needs to be cleaned up. I went out to put flowers on my parents graves and we had to scrape the weeds off off that had been thrown there after it was mowed. Have a little respect for the dead and their families. After all, Smith Funeral Home makes more of a profit of any other funeral home in this area. Clean the graveyard up or you may run out of business.

I agree! Smith's Funeral home doesn't care about ANYTHING but MONEY ever since Howard and now his daughter have been in control of it! My family stopped using them years ago! You can go to German's or the other one in Hayti (can't think of the name of it right now)and they are cheaper and you get much better service and they actually care about the PEOPLE!

There is an odor that comes from one of the mausoleums. The latest entombment there was April 2007.

Wouldn't this make you think something wasn't done correctly?
Who would you contact to have it checked out?
