I must warn those of you in Big Bear Lake, California, there's a nut on the loose. He's on the prowl. He's shooting people. This former cop, this Dorner guy, he's running around, and he loves left-wingers and so forth. I think the safest thing for those of you to do in the area where he is thought to be is turn in your guns now. They tell us that will stop him.
It's this former Los Angeles Police Department officer, Christopher Dorner ,who has allegedly shot and killed three innocent people in cold blood. If they had just maybe turned in their guns, they'd be alive today. It makes people safer. You need to learn that. Christopher Dorner, the subject of a massive manhunt, posted an 11,000-word manifesto on Facebook. Thank goodness we have Facebook. We don't have to wait for permission from the New York Times. Remember the Unabomber, Ted Kaczynski, the last mass murderer who was a devout devotee of left-wingers, he had Algore's book and so forth. The Unabomber is blowing people up, pipe bombs and stuff. One of them was in Sacramento when I lived there, not far from the KFBK studios at the time.
Anyway, this guy publishes an 11,000-word manifesto on Facebook that details his plans, which include targeting cops. I must tell you, you know, Michelle Malkin has this site called Twitchy. What she is does is aggregate a bunch of different tweets out there so that tweeterers don't have to go to a bunch of different tweet people. And apparently there are thousands of people urging this guy on, praising him as a real-life Django. I kid you not. They're praising this guy, tweet after tweet after tweet, praising this guy as a real-life Django, who is gonna "kick they ass," quote, unquote.
So now this Dorner guy in this 11,000-page manifesto praises Ellen DeGeneres and Charlie Sheen about whom he said, "You are F-ing awesome, dude." Jennifer Beals, Serena Williams, Tamron Hall, who's an infobabe at MSNBC, Natalie Portman, Queen Latifah, Kelly Clarkson, Norah Jones, Margaret Cho, and Rutina Wesley. And then he has a bunch of left-wing journalists that he idolizes and encourages and claims to draw inspiration from. They are Chris Matthews, Joe Scarborough, Pat Harvey, Brian Williams, Soledad O'Brien, Wolf Blitzer, Meredith Vieira, Tavis Smiley, and Anderson Cooper, to whom he sent something. He sent Anderson a gift package. Anderson opened it, I think he revealed the contents, I haven't heard that.

Of these journalists he says, "Look, keep up the great work and follow Cronkite's lead. I hold many of you in the same regard as Tom Brokaw and the late Peter Jennings."
Dorner has also praised Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton, praised Obama, and he said Colin Powell inspired his life. He's a madman lunatic on the loose, shooting people, aiming at cops, claiming he's a victim of discrimination and racism and all that.
Now we have one of these people on the loose who is praising all these Democrat journalists, Democrat politicians and Hollywood stars for inspiring him. I mean, there's no supposition here, folks. There's no presumption, assumption. There's no imagining it. It's right out there in front of everybody's nose. The guy is admitting it!
Again, we're into public service and helping people here, and I think Big Bear Lake -- and, by the way, you talk about this snowstorm in the Northeast, but there's one at Big Bear Lake as well. There's a big time snowstorm out there. People are wondering: Could the guy -- could Christopher Dorner -- survive in the elements overnight? They brought Mark Fuhrman on Fox. He said, "Hell, yes, he could! I've done it myself. A backpack's all you need out there."
Anyway, they've locked down Big Bear Lake. It's a big resort, and they've locked it down. Everybody's scared to death. I'm just telling you people out there: Turn in your guns. That will stop him.
By the way, about Christopher Dorner, I want to predict where this is gonna go. He played football, therefore he suffered concussions. You know, this is already being used as an excuse for questionable, aberrant behavior, because the game of football is far more dangerous than anybody knew, and this guy played football at some level in his life. You watch.

What has happened to plain old common-sense? Why is it legal (in this country) to have access to assault weapons that were designed for only one purpose MASS MURDER?
Tell me when was the last time you went hunting with an assault weapon? Have you ever had the need to use a weapon that will fire up to 70-100 rounds of bullets in rapid succession while squirrel, pheasant, deer, or elk hunting?
The kind of arsonal that has been used in the MANY MASS MURDERS in the US over the last few years truly belong to the solders in the military and CERTAINLY NOT TO CIVILIANS!!!
Here are a few interesting facts:
The US has about 5% of population of the world but has 50% of all the guns in the world.
In the US there are more than 11,000 homicide deaths per 100,000 population as compared to around 100 in other countries like the UK, Japan, Australia & Canada.
That means that homicides are almost 1000 times more in the US.
The corralation of a larger number of guns with big numbers of homicides & accidents is so obvious.
One reason give for such incidents is that it is the work of psychopaths of mentally ill people.
However, the US does not have any disporportionately higher number of such people than the rest of the world.
WAKE UP & OPEN YOUR EYES & YOUR HEART - IT'S TIME TO PASS SOME SERIOUS GUN CONTROL LEGISLATION!!!
You go first. Give all of your late husbands guns, if he had any, and give them to the government. OK and when you are left without any protection and some doped, crazed person breaks in on you with a gun .... well, you seem to be the kind of person that would show up with a knife at a gun fight. So go for it.

<quoted text>Common Sence,
Many of the 26 children/adults who where were gunned down in Connecticut might very likely be alive today - had assault weapons & the rounds of ammunition (which would allow 70-100 bullets to be fired in rapid succession) been banned & illegal at the time.

This mentally deranged murderer - stole his mothers' guns and ammunition. And by all reports, these guns & ammunition were PURCHASED LEGALLY. If there had been laws banning such weapons & ammunition - this insane man would not have had access to them.

Sure, this same man could have come in and murdered several people - but the time that it took him to reload (even a few seconds) would more than likely allowed someone to stop him and maybe even kill him before could have gunned down 26 people!

Yes, this man was a nut job. And America has many other mentally deranged nut jobs out there - however, America does NOT have disporportionally any more "nut jobs" than other countries (that have much stricter gun control laws than we do.

Don't you find it interesting that other countries don't have near as many homicides & gun accidents as America does?

I just have one question for you. If you had been living in New Town, Connecticut - and it was one of YOUR CHILDREN (a first grader) that was gunned down & slaughtered by this madman - would you still cling to your same views against GUN CONTROL???
He didnt use an assault weapon you dumass twit

I don't think you understand that the government constantly chips away at our rights. You've lived long enough to see it. It will keep on doing it. The Amendments to the Constitution were written to protect us from the government. The writers knew this all to well when they wrote it. Remember King George? You let the government take this gun and then it will be that gun and then some other gun until they get all of the guns. Then what happens is you will have a government that can do what it wants. Do you think if the colonist didn't have guns they would have been able to fight for their freedom? Believe me if the government gets our guns we will eventually have no freedoms. What give a cop the right to take a gun home at night to protect his family if the rest of us Law abiding citizens give up our guns??? Believe me the rapists, murderers, thieves, druggies, and all the rest of the scumm will have their guns.

If gun control will keep 61 Alumni from shooting her mouth off, I might be for it. Maybe she thinks it will not apply to her since she just shoots blanks.

What's the source of those numbers you cited in your first post?

Are you aware that England banned guns and that criminals just went to knives and now they want to ban certain types of knives because of knife violence? http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4581871.stm

I am almost amused by the talk of semi automatic weapons and assault weapons. Both show a lack of knowledge of guns or a deliberate deception.

A semi automatic weapons is one that fires a round at the pull of the trigger and cycles to put a fresh round under the hammer. An automatic weapon is one that you pull the trigger, you drain the clip.

Odd, when the 2nd Amendment was written the assault gun of the day was the muzzle loading musket. Today people want to ban assault assault weapons. Wouldn't the founders had specified no assault weapons if they felt those were too much for the people to have?

Every little restriction or ban on us is the loss of a bit of freedom. Some time you should look at the weapons you can legally own under the Federal Curios and Collector's License. Did you that there are several WWII era ANTI TANK CANNONS you can own under a fed Curios and Collector's License? Did you know that most firearms that 50 years old or older are Curios and Collectables under this license. The AK-47 started production in 1949 meaning is now 64 years old. The M-16 started service in 1963 which means it is 50 years old this year and the M-14 is 54 years old. What about the Thompson, the BAR (a favorite of Clyde Barrow)?

I could go on and on.

Why own a so called assault rifle? I could go on and on about protect, disasters, etc. I won't because that is obvious. Have you ever shot an assault rifle? They are difficult weapons to master. It take skill and above average eye/hand coordination to continuously fire one accurately. I know. I've fired the M-16A1 while in the Army and continuously shot expert with it. I also won the West German military's gold shooting away for qualifying with their G-3 assault rifle, their machine gun, and their standard side arm pistols. During a familiarization course, I fired and AK-47.

So there you have my two cents but I still want to know where you got your numbers from.
